The most horrible Indian food in and around Portland. Save your time and tummy. Everytime I eat here, I get an upset tummy and sick for two days. Their food is not cooked fresh daily. Pretty everything on the menu feels undercooked. Especially idlis and dosa !! I don’t recommend this place to anyone !!!

The staff here will imply you're a thief of you don't shove your phone in their face and confirm your order in his face. There is no trust.

The absolute best place to get food at the mall. Real authentic food and absolutely tasty! This is the only place that has ever got me to enjoy spinach. They're the friendliest and most down to earth owners. If you want to try something different this is the spot! Yes, free samples too!

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were in a rush and planned to get something quick in the food court. Had a couple of samples here, and they were delicious! Got a 2 chicken entree plate with the potato and cabbage salads. Also had a mango and sweet Lassi. Everything we had was awesome, and the customer service was wonderful. You can tell the people who made the food take great pride in it, as they should. We will definitely be coming back!
The entree tasted NOTHING like the delicious sample. The chicken had a lot of gristle in it. They poured sauce a d chincken over what was supposed to be a cabbage salad and there was far more of just plain cabbage and nothing else other than the meat and peanut butter sauce swapped over my salad. I was a bit disappointed as my sample was amazing.

I've seen many reviews, and like a lot of places, they vary quite a bit, so I can only speak of my experience. I am a fan of Indian cuisine and have had the best from all over. I am going to rate Bombay Wala as a mall food provider only. And with that, the food was very good. From a flavor standpoint, it was better than some of the offerings in the food court. The owner was very generous and gave out samples. I actually ordered too much food and ended up in a food coma soon after. Butter chicken, rice, saaki, and Lassi were all very good. Portions were generous, and I felt it was a good value when compared to the other shops in the court. Oh, and the potato salad was to die for.

The food was absolutely delicious. Completely unexpected from food court, its top notch, home cooked, high end restaurant quality. Some of the best I've had. Looking forward to coming back for more Mel's.
