Great little dinner/restaurant nestled on the greens of the golf course, with staff who are devoted to making your dinning worth the visit.

Used Google to search for Family Diner while out driving around and this sounded interesting. When I got there I realized that it was the restaurant for the golf club at the sprawling Woodburn retirement Village which has been in existence for decades. I was hungry and went in anyway. Standard American faire is actually somewhat difficult to find in Woodburn. The staff is friendly. And the view is of the golf course. The decor is sort of a country cottage style. They only are open until mid afternoon. There was a full menu choice. Of breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, and grill items. I chose the braised Tenderloin in gravy over egg noodles. It came with a green salad or house soup. The salad I received was fresh and crispy. It was garnished with some canned beets and shredded cheese. The blue cheese dressing was fine. I noticed that several tables that came in after me had already received their food. They had ordered breakfast items and burgers. I asked and the wait staff curtly responded that “it’s still cooking sir”. I can only surmise that the item I ordered was not standard and took a little more time to prepare. I did not time it but it felt like it took too long. When it arrived it was steaming hot and well cooked. There was a dollop of sour cream on top to mix in if I chose to. The serving size was large the beef chunks were plenty and flavorful. I did feel that the meat was just a little bit chewy. Sirloin can be that way. The noodles were fine. There was a mix of customers but obviously catering towards the retirement community. There were return customers because some of the wait staff were giving customers hugs as they were leaving. The pricing was actually quite reasonable. I do think that I would go back again given the opportunity. As a side note. I had a large amount of take home. So I sautéed some mushrooms and onions and added it to the mix then put in some Hungarian Paprika and it turned out pretty good.Parking: Several Handicap parking spaces but in a retirement community they may be all occupied during busy meal timesWheelchair accessibility: Double front doors but not automatic.

Visiting Woodburn, we were looking for good home-style breakfast at a non-chain restaurant. Country Cottage was perfect! Easily found in the country club/senior center building, the entry is a little bit awkward. However, the dining area with view of the golf course from every table and the rustic chic decor make for a charming setting. We enjoyed a delicious meal-hubby said the blueberry pancakes were divine! Service was friendly and some of the regular locals made us feel welcome.

This place is a surprise hidden gem in Woodburn. We ate here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They serve breakfast all day and have specials every night. Saturday nights are prime rib nights. My partner got the prime rib and loved it and I got the chicken cordon blue but I didn't love my food. It was okay, nothing amazing. The staff is super friendly. It's not the cutest restaurant ambiance wise, but another food option for Woodburn that was a pleasant surprise.

I like it here. I usually just order food to go but last time I ate inside. The lady who owns it was warm and friendly and my server was kind. I love that they have such a large menu and anything I’ve had has been pretty good. I can’t wait to go back for prime rib. I would go right now, but I’ve already had dinner this evening. I just now remembered that today is Friday. Oh well, I’ll have to go next week.

We eat at the table. Bad Waitness never come to check with me if any other order. She comes and orders food to go. I sit at the table for about an hour. They never bring my hot food to go. I give up and walk to the cashier. Hot food just sits on the count for an hour. Getting a cold food is not good. I never come back.
