Like a home-cooked meal, with friendly wait staff. Convenient street or lot parking within 50 feet. Relaxed atmosphere.

We were the only diners in the restaurant. Took almost an hour to begin to get our food and it was served one entree at a time ! Vegetables were cold and served on a dish too small - the asparagus hung over both sides- mashed potatoes were barely warm and were dry, chicken was overcooked and yet the cheese inside (cordon blue) was not melted. Hamburger was way overcooked and tasted like leather. Flatbread phoenix pizza was bland and tasteless. The strawberry pecan salad with salmon was good but served on a dish that was much too small. The salmon entree was good but was served with barely cooked baby carrots that were cold !We looked forward to eating here because its near a theatre we frequent but after this experience - it was a dinner for my sisters birthday as well , which made even more disappointing - we will not be returning. We would not recommend this restaurant for dinner.

I was here a few weeks ago to try it for the first time with my girlfriend and her family. Her parents and sister ordered chicken parma and all of their chicken was completely raw. I ordered fettuccine alfredo and it came out ice cold. I have no idea who they are allowing to cook the food, but they are lucky no one as gotten seriously ill. I’ve never experienced such a poorly managed restaurant. This place should be closed for good. I would never recommend this place to any friends or family.

I've eaten at a lot of the breakfast places around town with friends. We went to Cook's Kitchen because one of our usual go-to places was closed. We went on Sunday and found out they only do breakfast buffet... Okay, we'll try it. Unfortunately, we got up to the food and half of the options were empty. What was left was cold toast, burned pancakes, overdone eggs and home fries, and some bacon.... Which you can get elsewhere for <$14 and have everything come out okay (even eggs cooked to order). Also, just as a heads up, it's Visa, Mastercard, and cash only. Unfortunately, there wasn't any signage indicating this on the menu or the door.I'm hesitant to recommend Cook's Kitchen right now - being a new restaurant, I think they have some kinks to smooth out. There are some other local places that (to me) offer a better breakfast at a better value. I respectfully offer my feedback with the hope that Cook's Kitchen does work out the kinks, as I want to see another local business in our area succeed.

First review was removed. Went to breakfast with a friend, we were the only people in the restaurant. Waited over 30 minutes for our food, ordered a sausage, egg, cheese on a bagel and an omelet. Sausage was raw, cheese wasn't even melted and the hashbrowns were cold. The omelet wasn't too bad, but there was hair on my toast. We didn't even eat half our food. We let the Waitress know about our food. Paid full price. Pretty much an awful experience overall. Considering we watched the wait staff eating while we waited for our food.

Waited 45 minutes for side salad to arrive. Waited another 15 minutes after that for the rest of the meals to come. 2 sandwhiches. Over an hour! Wife's chicken sandwhich was bland and mushy. Pathetic. Both our fries were hard and undercooked. Wont be back and I advise anyone reading this to do same.

Just returned from a exiles meal with my wife. We are vacationers so we will most likely never return however should any of YOU be in the neighborhood this is a restaurant well worth trying. The wife had spicy linguini in red vodka sauce and a side of meatballs while I had chicken Marsala with stewed tomatoes and baby's glazed carrots. We both enjoyed our entrees very much If you are not a local the rest itself ,though in town, still is off the beaten path and sits right smack dab in a residential neighborhood surrounded by homes. That in itself is surprising to me. Parking is available in the rear and whatever you can find on the streets and it is free Our waitress was efficient and attentive without being intrusive. Enjoyable dining experience while in the city of Altoona. Go as I do not think you will be disappointed. Price point is fair and apropos with the meal and ambiance.

We wanted to find a place for dinner before a show, so I looked on Yelp (naturally!) The food & staff are really good-we had quite a variety to try from the menu, including the zucchini and mussels for appetizers. We got dessert to take home & it was very good too. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again!
