We used to go to Gennaro's weekly when it first opened and we lived close by. We have since moved and it fell off our radar. We chose to go back when meeting friends for dinner. What was I thinking when we stopped going?? The decor was cozy and welcoming. I felt like I was back home. We went on a packed Friday night and were seated right at our reservation time. Ariano's has been my go-to Italian restaurant in the area for years but Gennaro's might have bumped them outta my top spot! I ordered the Rigatoni Vodka with chicken cutlet and the Tiramisu for dessert and I'm already looking forward to my leftovers. The dishes came out quickly and were hot and delicious from the first bite to last. I had to stop myself from eating the whole plate so I'd have leftovers. I can't wait to bring my GF and parents back!

Great for a midweek date. Food is very good. I enjoyed my appetizer (the burrata --delicious and with eye appeal) more than dinner (Chicken Florentino --good but could have used some imagination). The mussels appetizer was excellent and the veal parmesan is always to perfection. Service was friendly and familiar; our server knows how to "read" her guests.
