This is hands down one of my favorite places of all time. While my heritage is PA Dutch I was fortunate enough to be raised by a Slovak Stepdad who introduced me to good tasting food including strudel. I've been a regular customer since they've opened and have never been disappointed in anything I've tried. Also my 88 year old Stepdad said it's the best strudel he's had since his Grandmother's which says a lot. Most importantly, you will not find better people than Kelly and Tom....read full review

Stopped in while getting unloaded right behind them. Was treated as a friend rather than a customer and enjoyed not only getting to know about them but the area and events around that are very interesting. The food was better than I thought and I definitely will come back when in the area and even make a trip just to get out of the house one weekend with my wife. Best experience I have ever had at an establishment.

Mattie's Strudel Haus was an added stop for us on our way from NY/ CT border to Wheeling, WV. My Hungarian-German grandmother and other relatives prided themselves on twice a week strudel making. I was too young to master the stretching, but tried it as a new bride several times more than 55 years ago. So discouraged! Actually gave up trying to make it, but always have it when I find it.
