The atmosphere was good and the staff was very friendly. The pasta was disappointing, drenched in too much sauce and the sauce was too sweet.

Jim and the crew are great! Awesome real Italian food. Unfortunately we moved to punxsutawney and don't get it as much, but tonight I was in the neighborhood and ordered Togo. An hour and 45 minutes later I surprised my wife and kids. (Im the best dad in the world now...lol) My 13 year olds words. It was still as good as straight from the kitchen. P.S. I wrapped my winter jacket around our food ?

They goofed up on my order, and would not take any responsibility for it. They just argued with me. If you order a steak sub, make sure they don't put mushroomson on it if you can't eat mushrooms. There will not be a next time.

Love love love this place. Great food. Take out is wonderful too.
Found this gem for lunch while driving east on I-80 back to southern NJ. Google Maps caused us to use some wickedly hilly, tiny streets because the entrance door and parking is on a one-way street.Everything about our experience was very nice. I ate way more than I should have and still, sadly, left some of my entree and garlic bread. The huge toss salad with in-house dressing was really excellent!!Driving around town was also very interesting.Thank you to the owner and staff for maintaining this establishment for decades. It was such a pleasure to eat here, and not be stuck with highway chain food and atmosphere.

5 stars for food that is unpretentious and clearly made old school.and with love and history.5 stars for service that was constantly moving, checking, refilling and friendly. Atmosphere 5 stars totally one step away from a second Mystic Pizza. Cozy, quaint and comfortable. The Ritz its not. But if wanting a good meal with a good fair price with a down home vibe, Jims is for you. We fell upon it by happenstance and will definitely be our go to when work brings me to town. Loved it!
We moved to Bellefonte 9 months ago, and tonight wins our worst dining experience, from beginning to end (Two previous visits were good.), in Centre County. From the start, the place was filthy with boxes piled everywhere, food on the floor throughout, and greasy near the register (a staff person actually fell when we approached to pay!).Drink orders were messed up (water became root beer), wilted & oily lettuce was passed off as salad, we had to leave the table and hunt staff for flatware, drinks were never re-filled & once food came out (Which came out on 4 shifts. Two finished eating as the other meals were brought out) we never saw our waitress at the table (We did observe her eating chips near the fountain machine.). The meal literally tasted & the portion size was like a tv dinner. I tried to explain to the lady at the register and she literally gagged out an apology and snapped at our party that we don't see the food going out the front. She asked what went wrong, but totally ignored my answer so I just stopped talking. I told her we would not be returning & she snapped that she was sorry, but that was our choice. If you like dirt, horrible food, and rude staff that either ignores or snaps at you, Jim's is your place. I usually never complain, but this was so bad I felt something should be said. Waste of breath, sadly.

One of Bellefonte's original places to eat. The father was really a great chef. His son took it over and the place is still run the same way his father ran it !!! Great place to eat !!
