Terrible! The service here is atrocious! We sat down at 6pm didn't get a drink until 6:40 and had to ask to get our order Togo at 7:15. Because we had to be somewhere at 7:30. Got our tab at 7:30. Food was below average. Will never go back to this place.

Great atmosphere and service. Food was good as well but for the price, I'm conflicted. Had you gotten more or if it was the best I've had it'd be more justified. I'd recommend it to try though.

Stopped by here on a quick trip to Bethlehem. The food was amazing and the orange wine was delicious. Recommend the Loaded Kelewele and the Mixed Meat Platter. The owner is very friendly and attentive. Hope we can come back again.

TRY COAL! The food is great, the atmosphere warm and comfortable, Chef Kofi welcoming and helpful. We tried Red Red (mackeral, black-eyed peas and tomato) and Ampesi (pan-seared bronzini, plantains, palm oil, and spinach to die for), and now we want to come back to try even more items from this interesting menu. I wish we'd thought to take pictures cuz the food was beautiful too. Historic Bethlehem has never been tastier!

Came here a few weeks ago and got some amazing food and drinks. The atmosphere is really unique and the service is top notch. Our food came out very quickly with generous portions and was VERY flavorful. Can’t wait to go back in the summer so we can take advantage of the indoor/outdoor setup.

Incredible food and experience. We ordered the sweet and spicy plantains, mixed meat plate, shrimp and pineapple stir fry and red red plate. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection.

We had a wonderful dinner and everything was delicious. Our server Kofi greeted us with a warm smile. It appeared they were short staffed and Kofi was the host, server and bartender. Although he was juggling many things, he still provided excellent service! Here are the absolute yummy must haves: Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bourbon Cocktail, Kelewele (Sweet and spicy Fried Plantains) Chips and Salsa (Plantain chips with a tomato, ginger, and habanero salsa) & Stewed Chicken. Enjoy!
Love love love! Delicious food cooked by the most friendly and welcoming people! Couldn't recommend it enough...but you have got to try it for yourself. I love the entertainment they host sometimes just overall a great experience! Go-ahead and try i am sure you will love?

I don't write reviews often but we went to Coal today and loved it! For an appetizer we got the Kelewele which was delicious. For entrees I got the chicken stew based on the chef and waiter's recommendation and my girlfriend got the mixed meat platter. Both were cooked perfectly, had incredible flavor and were overall excellent! Highly recommend them. We will be back!

Our dining experience dragged on for over 3 hours! We were seated right away but our drink order wasn’t taken for a half an hour. After placing our drink and appetizer order, our drinks showed up another 30 mins later. Another 30 mins later our appetizer showed up. 45 minutes later one meal (of the 4 of our meals) showed up. The rest of the meals came out all about 5 minutes apart so half of us were almost done by the time the last meal came.The food was good but we didn’t get everything we ordered. My boyfriend’s side was supposed to be roasted veggies and they gave him rice instead. Our loaded yam fry appetizer came with only two of the 6 or 7 listed toppings. They ran out of chicken kabobs and had to substitute it. The drinks were also wrong.

He is the Jack of all trades.I had the chef special, peanut butter chicken stew with a rice ball (I’m drooling just writing it). It was amazing! Everything we had from the drinks to the apps to the dinners was so good, I almost went back today.If your in Bethlehem PA, you definitely need to try it.
