Great brewing specialists and decent food. Great open airy place. Trivia night is popular.

I think there is a potential for 5 stars, but our experience, while not the worst, was not the best either. Service was slow even though when we got there, there was a 6 top that was waiting for others and was waiting to order, and one other 4 top besides ours. There was 6 people at the bar, but the bartender was there for them.Once we did get service, our waitress was very kind. We were able to put in our drink orders and food together. We got the meatballs and crostini, the loaded baked potato with pulled pork, and 2 orders of chicken fingers for our kids. The meatballs came out piping hot and had excellent flavor. My loaded baked potato was hard, and everything on it was freezing cold, including the pulled pork upon being brought out to our table. Both of our kids' chicken fingers seemed like they were just cooked in the microwave instead of being baked or deep-fried because the breading was soggy. Overall, the idea and the flavors were there, but there were just a few things that missed the mark and could use improved upon. I did let our waitress know about potato and asked her to make the chef aware. Another thing is, they didn't have any salt or pepper on the table, nor were we asked if we'd like refills on any of our drinks.I must say though, the ambiance was wonderful, and I loved that they had a whole game section and blackboard for kids to play. It makes for a very inviting, family friendly atmosphere. I would absolutely go back if were back that way.

Someone always sees you and will get you. There are busy times. Those busy times are when the sit-down experience isn't so nice. The noise is bad... They need acoustic panels. Is he more comfortable if I could have a conversation while enjoying the menu.

Food was absolutely delicious! Susan was in the kitchen showing how it should be done. Amber was behind the bar with many smiles and great suggestions. I will be back.

Fantastic selection of in house brews. Food menu is mostly sandwiches and appetizers all named for Prohibition celebrities. Enjoyed both food and beer with excellent service. Well worth the 5 block trip to the north side of town.

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere new for us here in Carlisle and decided to try Desperate Times as the menu sounded good and cider was advertised. We arrived around 7:40pm for a late dinner. We got a great table in the corner by the window. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the original cider & the cranberry cider to try. They were okay, but both had an aftertaste of beer. I expected more of an apple base to them. That was a bit disappointing for us.We were very impressed with the German fair on the menu and both ordered a Paddy Wagon. The different sausages were excellent! The sauerkraut and potato salad were delicious. I only wish we got bigger portions! Big fans of the German mustard. Could have used more of that as well. Highly recommend the food here! Will have to try different drinks next time. We look forward to returning.

DTB staff accommodated us both Thursday and Friday evenings. We had a large group both times —12+ people. Service was prompt. Food arrived hot and in a timely fashion. Even with a car show in town, good experience with good beer, good food, good service. Thanks, DTB!
