My wife suggested Hoss's this evening and I really wasn't into it at first but I agreed and I'm glad I did! Hoss's isn't anything fancy but my meal really hit the spot! I had steak tips with onions, peppers, mushrooms and gravy and a side order of onion rings. Of course, I couldn't not get the salad bar as well. No dessert for me this time but I did see on their outside billboard that they're BYOB!

The portion size and quality have gone down hill. They have raised prices while cutting quality.

This has been my go-to place (Carlisle location) since around Christmas time, I bought a gift card and got an additional $10 bonus gift card. My sister bought the same, so we meet here about once a month to catch up and eat. ? The salad bar is always fresh and neat. The service has always been good too. I love that the dining areas is open and large. Even when tv it’s busy, it’s never crowded. I usually get the salad bar and the grilled chicken and either mashed potatoes (?) or a baked potato. And I usually take most of the entree home.

Three out of five of us ordered steak, and not one was cooked right. It was supposed to be two medium, and one extra well. All three were bloody. We sent them back and there was very little change. The crabcake was mediocre at best, the veggies were barely warm and the coffee was not hot. Very bad experience. Our bill was adjusted for one of the steaks.

I took a party of 10 and 7 out of 10 thought the steak was tough and no taste. The salad bar was good. We go to houses every year as a men's outing for our church group. But we will be going somewhere else for our next outing.

My opinion of Hoss's over the last 20 years or so has been mixed. More recently it hasn't impressed me as I watched the number of locations dwindle. I went to this one as part of a family outing, the first I've been to in 5+ years. And they did not disappoint! The food was very good, soup/salad/bread bar a highlight as usual, and the service was on point. They've managed to change my opinion and I may just have to revisit again in the not-too-distant future.
