Ordered skirt steak, lady on phone had a hard time hearing, called back to confirm order and all seemed good. Went to pick up and it was mofongo, not the skirt steak I ordered. Prices were outrageous and the chicken breast was completely unseasoned. Flavor was nothing to right home about. Called to let them know about the mistake and they ignored the first call and sent the second one to hold music. Will not be back again ✌

The arroz con gandules, pernil and guineo en escabeche was delicious( en su punto). I would travel to Harrisburg to get my fix of Puerto Rican food, but now I have an option that is not only closer, it is better.

I wanted to like this place because I love PR / Dominican/Cuban foods however Lizardi's needs to improve. First they have no website but do have FaceBook. The two things people want to know is when they are open and the menu. There is a menu on FB but you have to hunt and scroll for it. The menu is in Spanish which is fine but surely it make a business sense to have one in English too. There are pictures of various dishes but no name in Spanish or English of the dish. I found a menu in English on menu.com I read all the reviews and several people liked the stuffed chicken breast. The stuffed chicken breast was not on the menu, neither was the deep fried chicken. We ordered the Boricua sampler plate $19. I liked the battered shrimp tempura, but there was also some breaded shrimp that were not made in house. The menu said there was chicken fritter on the sampler, but this was missed off or not available. My friends liked the fry cheese. My main course was the fried pork. I have had this so many times at other places. Usually chunks of pork butt or shoulder seasoned and marinated in Puerto Rican spices and then deep fried. The meat was tough, dry and there was no taste of the seasoning. There was no garlic dipping sauce. If the meat had been marinaded over night in seasoning, garlic and lime juice this would help to tenderise the meat. I usually have beans and rice with this dish but I decided to try mofongo. My friends love mofongo, it just isn't for me. Our take away order took an hour. The prices and serving are reasonable but they need to improve the quality of their food if they are going to make it.

I went to Puerto Rico years ago on vacation, and still remember how much I enjoyed the food. This was my first visit to Lizardi's and will not be my last. I ordered the Fried Pork Mofongo. My brother ordered a Tripleta Sandwich and a Chicken Mofongo. Everything was made fresh and tasted delicious! I felt like I was back in Puerto Rico!
