Beautiful setting in a historic building in Yellow Springs. They sell really cute gifts and home decor items, too. It’s so charming! If I could make one suggestion it’s to add more comfortable seating, like soft seating, for people who want to work remotely there. Parking is also a bit of a challenge depending on the time of day.

What a great cafe and boutique. Very relaxing atmosphere, nice background music and the temperature was just right. The food was delicious and they even have a few vegan options for breakfast and one pastry so far. The mushroom soup and avocado toast, without feta, was delicious! They offer plant-based creamer. The coffee was great! If you have a wheelchair or a walker, you can easily get in using the back door. The restroom was very clean and accessible.I definitely will return!Vegetarian options: I only asked about vegan options. They made the avocado toast vegan by not putting feta. The mushroom soup is vegan and they have a coffee cake which is also vegan. Vegan creamer is available.Wheelchair accessibility: The best way to get in with a wheelchair or walker would be the back door. There seems to be plenty of room between the tables and other objects for a wheelchair or walker to move through.

Life’s Patina Mercantile and Cafe is a Beautiful Cafe located in the Quaint Village of Historic Yellow Springs. It’s like traveling back in time to the magic and ambiance of a simpler time. The moment you walk in the door, every one of your senses is delighted with beauty and scents and feelings of serenity and contentment. The coffee is delightful, the sweets and food fare are delectable and the atmosphere is amazingly inviting , warm and welcoming. Top of the line in every way!! The mercantile to choose from either for yourself or a gift is beyond gorgeous and beautiful quality. Nothing has been spared. All the products are chosen with the utmost of consciousness to provide local and made in the USA goods. And last but not least the team serving you are friendly, kind, and accommodating! It is unfortunate when businesses dont update their site. My friend came all the way from Philly to join me for breakfast at 8:30 am. The website showed 8 am. Lights were on, people were working, so we knocked on the door. They saw us, but ignored us. We find out from someone that they are now opening at 9 am. You could have opened the door and told us. I dont care how good your food is, that is sad hospitality.

This is a good place to go for atmosphere and the surrounding village is very quaint. The breakfast sandwich was very tasty but the coffee drinks and service were just ok. The cold brew with cinnamon cold foam was nothing to write home about, with very little cold foam. For a cute, aesthetic breakfast date located in a bucolic setting, this is the spot. For a good cup of coffee, I'd stick with one of Phoenixville's many coffee spots nearby.

Stopped in with my mom on Christmas Eve to do a little last minute holiday shopping. We had a chai tea and a flavored latte from the cafe, which we sipped while we shopped. Beautiful location and building, with a great selection of gifts, decor, and treats. I'm so happy I live only 7 minutes away...will definitely be back soon!

Walking into this place is like slipping into a dreamy European vacation. The food and drink are close your eyes good. The effort love and attention to every detail that went into springing life back into this historic building washes over you and your senses. No component was left executed without extreme intentionality. Dining and shopping here is a luxurious gift life’s patina has brought to us. I’ve been 3 times already and am counting down the days till I can Return. Magnificent is an understatement.
