I was born in San Antonio, they have the best Tacos in DELCO if not Philly.

I’m trying to make authentic Al Pastor marinade at home, and this place has the really good stuff I need. I’ve now learned the importance of really good guajillo chili peppers, which they sell in big unmarked bags in the back at better prices than Acme. I dry them in my smoker at home and grind it into chili powder.

Sometimes a person will find a gem of a store that is so easy to miss it is a shame. If you ever are curious about trying Spanish-inspired dishes or at the very least want to see what you can get in a store like La Mexicana check it out! I have gone here as of today almost a handful of times and I get more interested in food culture and how food is cooked in Mexican and other ways. There is a surprising amount of food in such a small shop including as the front sign states a deli. They also have canned foods bagged foods like beans and blue flour corn and a section of refrigerated drinks that I only scratched the surface with purchasing. If you are wanting to support a rare business in the delco area or want to make something that is hard to find ingredients for in this part of North America, this place is for you so check it out! I do think you will love it.

Great, small grocery, with wonderful fresh tamales on Saturday, and if any are left, Sunday. Nice to have a source for our favorite El Milagro tortillas, which are the best tasting, and closest to homemade. Always open the package at the store, to make sure they are ok, before you leave, as El Milagro doesn't use a normal sell by date on the packages. Everyone is nice!
