this was my first time here and I'm telling you in my “outside voice” THIS WAS THE BEST BREAKFAST ON THIS SIDE OF THE VALLEY” ?? EVERYTHING WAS FRESH! COOKED HOMEMADE, not GREASY, oh my gosh! mmm THE BACON WAS FRESH AND CRISPY like BACON SHOULD BE, the SCRAMBLED EGGS WERE FRESH AND SEASONed WITH CHEESE, and the SAUSAGE LINKS WERE BOMB!! the WAITRESS WAS AWESOME! even the COFFEE WAS FRESH!Vegetarian options: there is a handful on the menu already but the owner/cook would be happy to substitute anything the way you want it!???Parking: you can park in the street and if you cant get in front of the diner then you can let your loved one out in front amd park along tbe street!

Breakfast gem of the valley! We've been to the Early Bird multiple times for breakfast and always have great food and a great experience. I'd recommend a giant pancake (12"+) and the great tasting sausage links. Food comes out fast, and the staff is always friendly. Reasonable prices for a breakfast guaranteed to leave you with leftovers.

The ladies who work there are the absolute sweetest, and the kitchen sends out the food in a reasonable amount of time. It's good for diner food, large portions at reasonable prices, but to get vegetables you have to order a BLT or a hamburger. Forget about fruit. Free parking on the street out front. There's apparently only one working restroom, a gender-neutral one off the side room. They have the capacity for large groups and will take a reservation if you call ahead. Not really my kind of place, but the pickings are slim in Donora, so I can recommend The Early Bird.

Great locally owned diner. When you walk you get exactly what you'd expect from a local diner. Service with a smile, massive pancakes, good eggs and bacon. Going to make this a Sunday morning tradition.Give them a try!!

Pleasant local diner whose owners have lived in the community and know it’s history. The food is good comfort food. Breakfasts and lunches are the diner standards: I highly recommend their Combination sandwich. Burgers are also solid choices (mushroom/Swiss).You will be full and content, regardless of selection.Donorans past and present will appreciate that this is on the site of the former Costas’ Restaurant. And the coffee is mild, pleasantly warm and palate-pleasing.

Nice option for breakfast while visiting family in the area. I had a meat lovers omelet and home fries. Food was good (spicy sausage was the best part) and service was great.

The good was very good. We had the Easter Brunch Buffet and there was an excellent choice of items to eat. Everything was hot and tasty. The servers were professional and very friendly. This is somewhere we will definitely visit again.

Went here on Sunday for the breakfast buffet. The food that I got to try was really good, but unfortunately they kept running out of almost everything before I could even try it. They didn’t bring out nearly enough food to keep up with demand. There were probably 15-20 people there for the buffet, but 3 people would wipe out all the food. The real disappointment was they would only bring out maybe 12 more pieces of bacon or sausage at a time; which literally the first person in line would take almost all of. I ended up getting hardly anything to eat due to this. While I don’t blame the restaurant for some peoples inconsiderateness, they definitely could have done better by bringing out more than just a handful more food at a time

Little diner in the middle of an old run-down steel mill town. Walking into the diner is like stepping back in time, with its swinging doors, bar-seating, and older signs and kitchen items. The service is friendly, and usually fast. The waitresses do tend to seem a little overwhelmed at times when it is busy. Coffee.... Typical of what you would find at a diner. OJ.... Generic Wal-Mart brand straight from the jug. The food scores higher marks. Omelettes are overfilled with toppings and cooked perfectly. Potatoes are seasoned well. And the pancakes are so big they hang over the plate! Toast is hit or miss.... It is usually forgotten, comes out much later than your meal, or is cold, as apparent by the butter that hasn't melted. Overall, though, a good stop for a filling and affordable breakfast.
