I was at beech mountain for the weekend and stop there Sunday and Monday morning. The breakfast was really good and the staff are really friendly. If I am up that way again I will definitely stop back. There biscuits and sausage gravy is terrific!!!
Tucked in behind Kisenwhether's Service Center and all its big semis and trailers, Mary's is that building off to the left with an "open" sign in the window. The only indication that you are looking at the right place is the sign out by the road whispering, "Mary's Family Restaurant." Once inside, the 1970's luncheonette styled joint, is pleasantly dated with small counter and a dozen of so booths. Good food, good price, cannot go wrong. If you're driving by, it's worth a stop. Home style diner feeling. Tried the open face hot roast beef, that was good. Also had jalapeño poppers and unfortunately, they were not cooked and cold. However, I'm not going to hold this against them as i dont think they are using the correct batter, worth a stop for sure.
