Debating on whether or not to leave a review, but given the circumstances I believe others should be made aware and use caution if needed. Traditionally, my partner and I have our anniversary dinner at Oak. We placed our order for appetizers and the main course. Like ever restaurant I attend, I make the staff and servers aware that I do have a severe nut allergy. We confirmed that all dishes we ordered were nut-free. Our server acknowledge this, and confirmed that there were no nuts in the dishes ordered, and we were told the chef would be made aware.Appetizers came out, delicious. However during our main course I found a walnut in theBrussel sprouts that I was in mid process of taking a bite out of. My partner confirmed that it was in fact a walnut which sent me into a state of panic. I immediately stepped outside to retrieve my Epipen. While the staff was empathetic, and I greatly appreciate them staying by my side during the traumatic experience. I recognized that things happen (as I work in the food industry as well), but there is was no excuse for negligence. I recognize that walnuts are in a few of Oaks dishes, however this was not one of them.I also made aware to staff of this severe, potentially deadly allergy so I would expect a little precaution to be taken. We appreciate our meal being compensated by half, but our night was completely ruined. It might sound dramatic to some but not to us- again, as this is a life or death situation for me.Disappointed that our night of celebration ended the way that it did, we will not be back as I do not feel safe eating there as a person with a life threatening allergy.

I would like to give our experience 5 stars based on the steaks alone but due to other reasons I have to give it 3 stars. First of all we had a 9pm reservation and showed up 5 minutes early, we weren’t seated until 9:15. The hostess seemed like that didn’t want to be bothered when I asked how much longer the table would be. Dinner service started off not so good, both of our salads the cesar and arugula were drenched in the dressing almost inedible. Not to mentioned the complimentary bread that came out was completely inedible, it was very hard and taste like cardboard. The steaks were the showstopper, we would only return for the steaks to be honest. The filet and NY strip were cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Great food service and pricing at a so called high end steak house. Drinks were great. Good selection variety of martinis. Drinks were not too pricey. Service was excellent all around. We did calamari which had great sauce. the lobster Mac n cheese had limited lobster. our server took it back had lobster added to it for us to take home. French fries were excellent asparagus was perfect. we shared a 40 oz tomahawk. Well cooked and very tasty. we had to wait for our table but the wait area was classy.

We used to dine at a steakhouse when visiting NYC before moving here since we were not satisfied with any other steakhouses around us. After we found Three Oak, we now can explore other restaurants in NYC because we have Three Oak. Love their oysters, salads, and of course the steak! Service has always been great every time we visited.

Reminds me of EPIC Steak in San Francisco! I got the 6oz filet mignon med rare, my husband got the 24oz porterhouse. Both had the blue cheese crust and both were absolutely delicious and tender. Wonderful!

My wife and I have visited here dozens of times and never had a bad experience. Marc the head bar tender is amazing with his service and knowledge of the menu and drinks. I hope THREE OAK appreciates Marc and keeps him around for a long time, because he levels up the place with his outgoing personality.
