The catfish was perfectly fresh and flakey with an amazing cornmeal crunch. The okra was crisp, flavorful and had just the right amount of sliminess. Will absolutely be trying more when I'm back in town.

Happened to stumble up on this hidden gem in downtown Erie. Coming from Florida on a travel contract, I was a little homesick but coming by here definitely made my day a little brighter. The food is fresh and made to order. I had the catfish& whiting nuggets, hushpuppies, fried orka. I high recommend this place. Thank You for the Southern hospitality. I will be back.
I regret waiting so long to try this place. The catfish and walleye were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The food came out fast and the people were friendly. We will definitely be returning and enthusiastically recommend Hooks to anyone who likes fried fish!

My husband and I were in Erie for the day and are not familiar with the local restaurants. We did a Google search and found Hook’s Catfish Kitchen and decided to give it a try. Let me tell you we were not disappointed. The fried catfish and perch were delicious and cooked just right. Fish was served with steak fries and coleslaw which were also very good. They have other choices of sides as well. The place is small but very clean and the owner was welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this place if fresh, delicious fish is what you’re hungry for !!!

Was planning on ordering food from this establishment for the first time and was very excited to try it. I called the restaurant several times and kept getting line busy. I decided to drive down as there hours said open. Upon arrival the establishment lights and open sign were on. I walk up to the door to find it locked with no one around. At least turn off lights and leave a sign up stating you are closed.

Just a hole in the wall in downtown Erie. I'm in town for the Erie Bicycle fest and wanted some seafood. Came across Hooks. Excellent deep-fried catfish and the best steak fries I've ever had all at a fair price. Highly recommend.
