I generously gave this hotel an "average" rating, but would not stay here again. There were a few pluses, but our experience over-shadowed the good parts. It is probably of the style of most Hilton Gardens, which I will now avoid in the future. We prefer other Hilton hotels, such as Homewood Suites or Home2Suites, where you get more for your money, expect certain amenities, and normally expect that when you are spending a little more for Hilton accommodations. Let me first say, the desk clerk Tony was excellent and a five start employee. We made our reservations for this hotel at least six months in advance and four days prior to arriving they sent me a "free upgrade" e-mail, which moved me from their Jr Suite to a whirlpool tub suite. That sounded like a nice gesture, and upon arriving I wish I had looked at both to see the difference. The next day I asked one of the cleaning gals to show me a Jr Suite, and I found it to be very spacious, nearly double room with a nice sitting area with couch and chair. My "upgrade" had only a desk chair, so no place to relax except sitting on the bed, which was not that comfortable either. It was no "suite, " but rather a regular sized room with furniture removed and a large tub installed. I now question whether their "generous upgrade offer" was only to open a room available for four guests rather than the two of us. Of course, the only web site pictures didn't show much of either room, so you couldn't compare. We had not intended to use the whirlpool tub anyway, and didn't, so the room was a bust. Once we got settled in, we may have been able to change, but a bus load of students arrived and we couldn't get to the desk in time, before rooms were taken up. As with typical Hilton Gardens, you paid for meals in their bar/grill, which was over-priced. Thankfully there was a Cracker Barrel nearby. I guess, if you are a Hilton Gardens style traveler and want the bar, etc., this would suit you. For us, it was a great disappointment. I will give them credit for a nice large business center with two computers, a fitness center with adequate equipment, and lobby area furnishings that were comfortable. The room was clean, bathroom small, but tub-shower had a grab bar, which you needed because the tub surface was very slippery when showering. Nothing special about the shower head (many places have nice large rain-style), they provided plenty of nice towels, and had shampoo, soap, etc. wall dispensers. As I said, I will give them credit for some things, but they aren't matching the Hilton name brand, and the one thing we looked forward to was comfort, and we didn't get it. I give them a generous grade of B- and do not recommend it. Let me finish by saying that I am not a chronic complainer and normally rate hotels very high. I do continually observe my surroundings, the comfort and the welcoming atmosphere, and if it's there they will be complimented on it. I typically readily compliment for a job well done.

The accessible room was just what we needed. I had called the hotel directly to book this special room, and I hoped it would be available for us- and it was. The room was spacious and clean. The roll in shower was just what we needed. WE appreciate Dwayne who helped us outside when our key would not open the side door. He was very kind! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. We will return!

Wonderful, last minute stay at this hotel this past week. We were on a car trip and didn't quite know when and where we would be ready to stop. Booked just 30 minutes before arrival. Staff was beyond helpful and courteous. I was told at front desk upon check in (9:45 pm) that restaurant was currently on 'last call' and kitchen was closed. This was so disappointing to us, since we were pulling a big trailer and were 'stuck' at our destination. I immediately went to the bar and asked the bartender if we could at least order one drink, having traveled all day and being very hungry and thirsty. He was beyond accommodating and not only allowed us to order drinks but, after checking with the chef, also enabled us to order dinner. Food and service were outstanding - bartender's name was Brandon, and he singlehandedly saved our day. Beds were comfortable as well, and bathroom squeaky clean. We skipped breakfast because of the need to hit the road, but the delicious lobby coffee was much appreciated. We highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Erie and will definitely return if we ever need to stay in the area again.

This hotel is well located and presents a good ratio value to price. Breakfast is great but the cleanliness of the room can be improved. Long hair in the bathroom (not mine)... Fitness room is well equipped. Great team globally: front desk, Kitchen...

A quick stop both coming and going on our way to a vacation. There are many hotels in this area, and I chose this one because of the high rating and the proximity to the highway. We did 2 one-nighters, a week apart. Honestly, I expected more from this Hilton. The staff is great. Front desk and bartender were great both visits. Rooms were ready both times, and easy parking made unloading very convenient. My requests to have an upper level, quiet room were honored. But the rooms are dated. They are clean enough, but the shower handle felt like it was going to come off in my hand, and the tub drain plug was in pieces. Mattress was average. Room-darkening drape was partially off it’s track, and the window whistled in the wind. Also, both times we stayed, each room had a funky odor. You kind of got used to it after awhile. To me, a 5-star rated hotel is better than this, sorry. I can just call this hotel average.

Property is conveniently located just off an exit. Numerous lodging and eateries around. Short distance from a shopping mall. Rooms are comfortable and reasonably spacious with adequate work space. Restaurant on the premise although items are overpriced.

it was very clean and the people treat you like gold.

Honestly expected a little more. The Hilton Garden Inn ERIE PA Was rated pretty highly and the nightly room cost was on the above average side when it comes to cost vs some of the other hotels in the area. I liked that our room was ready and I could go straight in with our room key. The room itself was fine, nice sitting area and the beds were comfortable enough. We did notice that even though the room was "ready" for us, when we got inside there was only a quarter of a roll of toilet paper on the roll and the second roll next to it was empty, as such we had to go downstairs and get more from the front desk. A Small detail sure, but a pretty important one when it comes to staying in a room with 4 people. Also the Pool was a big draw for us as my kids love to swim. The Pool area was fine but the pool itself is on the small side and when we swam there in the morning ( about 9am ) there were no clean towels in the pool area and the linen basket was full from the previous day with dirty towels. Again not a huge issue but enough to knock it down a rating. Breakfast was fine, but for the "Continental Breakfast" they offer I feel like $10 per person is a little steep for the small selection on offer, we didn't feel like the hassle but if Breakfast is important to you maybe go to one of the many choices outside the hotel within a very short distance. Clean hotel, but I feel like for the nightly room cost the standards should be a little higher

Be extremely careful with booking online with Hilton. DO NOT use the Advanced purchase option. No matter what the circumstance they will NOT credit or refund your purchase. This happened to me and I don't want to see anyone else to loose their money due to unforeseen circumstances that prevent a trip.

First, currently I’m cuddled in bed in the hotel! So I haven’t even left yet! Staff was amazing! Room good! But my praise comes in a different light….. The on site restaurant “safari grille”. Oh. My. Gawwwwwd. I was honestly terrified to try, but we were tired and hungry. I chose the tomato basil bisque and grilled cheese. My hubs had wings and Cobb salad! My bisque was mind blowingly amazing!!!!! The sammich was perfect. My husband who is hard to please, said they were the best wings he’d ever had! I don’t know why this place isn’t more on the map! You are top notch! We WILL be back!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It is very clean and well decorated. A restaurant and bar is on site and both are extremely good with great food and drinks. The price for a room here is very reasonable. A great Hilton hotel

We spent four nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Erie, Pa. On first night we requested a cot for our child. It took five requests, and a call to Hilton Honors to ever get a pillow and blanket on the SECOND evening. On the third evening the hotel sewage began gurgling out drain in our first floor bathroom. Maintenance came, said he couldn’t get it and would ask that they move us to another room…. He returned to tell us they didn’t have another room so he was going to “try a new tool”. Thankfully he was able to unclog it and apologized that they’re was no housekeeping that late and assured us they get us in the morning. The next morning we left for some family time and I requested housekeeping. When we returned that evening all of the towels and rags that were used to soak up the sewage still cover the bathroom floor. My husband went to desk to demand to see manager (third request so far during our visit), of course there was no manager on duty. So for two nights we stayed in a room with sewage on the floor. They were gracious enough to give us towels to wash our bodies though. There are no words for the amount of anxiety and spike in behaviors this trip presented our autistic child. And yes, we even requested to be transferred to another hotel. Absolutely worst trip ever. Made you look forward to the fourteen hour back home!!

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Erie on 4/18/22. From check in to the restaurant/bar were tremendous. Nicole was on the Front Desk and was excellent on checking us in also Melissa in the Restaurant was very friendly and the food was superior. When in Erie this location is a must stay. Plenty of local restaurants in the area if you choose to venture out.

Hotel being renovated - was awakened by workmen talking & working just outside my door a few hours after I had finally fallen asleep (late arrival). Bathroom was clean - except for previous guest’s hair on towel rack.
