“Unsure why there were 4 people working when three girls sat in the back on their phones doing nothing, while the lovely girl with the glasses and red hair was helping customers and making orders. I also tried to give my tip, just to her, after watching this for two people before me, and 6 more after while I ate my ice cream. Even honest, she put it in the tip jar, to share with the lazy girls in the back. She’s a great employee.She was kind, and gave great service. So I left 5 stars.“

But the thing that made our visit was the interaction with the manager, Chris. Chris was kind and engaging, even while prepping a bunch of online orders. “i came here 1 minute to close hoping to get a ice cream bc i really wanted ice cream and everywhere was closed. ken the worker was the only one there and it was closed. he could’ve said they were closed and not let me get anything but instead he let me get a milkshake. that’s dedication right there! he was such a nice guy literally coolest dude ever! god bless him! give that man ken a raise!!“
“I have enjoyed this place since it opened! The staff is magnificent. They are personable and take care of you! The atmosphere is wonderful. It is a wood decor. There is not a lot of seating inside, but there is ample seating outside. There is a good size parking lot (approximately 15 spots) and more parking right out front. The food and coffee is wonderful!The lattes are not extremely sweet of the syrups I get. This is a preference of mine real and strong coffee locally roasted!“

“My Mom, wife, and I went to see Chicago Transit last night and decided to stop at the Newtown Ice House. My wife suggested that we do so and what a great decision it was! The man and woman that helped us were helpful, kind, and patient. I had a peanut butter cup gelati with twist soft serve and heath bar. It was fantastic! My wife had a coffee gelati and liked it too. Grateful for awesome customer service and yummy treats. Excited to go back!“

“Service and food are wonderful. Ambiance is pretty good but a little "pizza joint" like. Not that it's bad, just didn't expect the level of food we received. Everything was hot and fresh, high quality ingredients, cooked very very well, I could argue perfect. Or waiter was responsive, thorough and very helpful. What a gem to find.“
