I lived up in New Jersey for a long time and I’ve noticed that Chinese food wasn’t very good in the Philadelphia area when I was living there recently. Very happy. “Had a great meal at La Chinesca...everything we had was delicious but I would call particular attention to the black bean fundido and the pumpkin tacos. Also LOVED the calamari Caesar salad! Cocktails were excellent and portions were quite generous!“

“While the meal was delicious, several factors could not be overlooked. We were seated next to a door that went to the outside dining area. The door was open and closed at at least 25 times with extreme wind blowing everything in our table. The wind was so strong that it blew the napkins off of our laps. This also had an impact on the temperature of the food with those gushes of wind coming in. That clearly impacted the ambience. The server took a long time to bring knives to the table, and we requested the sauces the way they used to be served. The sauces took quite a while, but there was no mixture or mixture bowl at the table. All of these things created delays service. While this may be the new norm, this is a clear difference in pre-and post-pandemic dining. “

“This is a great stop if you want a flavor journey. We ordered the duck bao buns, crab and pork soup dumplings, and the Dan dan noodles and we loved it all. The service was great, despite being fairly packed and us not having a reservation they were able to seat us within 10 minutes (honestly fast for how busy they were). Giving 4 stars bc I called in the order and the lady told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, got there in 15 mins and they didn’t have my food ready for another 10 mins after I got there.
