You might miss this place, they have a funky wooden sign out front and just a couple tables, but come in for some great stick to your ribs home cooked vegetarian/vegan food. We came for lunch, partner had the pulled "pork" which he loved, said the carrots and lentils provided a lot of sweet notes you'd get with regular pulled pork and loved the sauce. I had a grilled cheese and kale salad, very good bread, nicely toasted but not greasy. (I put my salad on my grilled cheese and ate it as a kale-pesto sandwich and it was even better that way!) My partner loves vegan food although he is not really vegan so we'll go back for sure. Try the Strawberry Seltzer, one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Being vegetarian we stopped by here based on the reviews and ordered Vegan Nachos, Chana Masala bowl, BBQ Mac & Cheese sandwich, Nacho Hot Dog along with berry tea's. The place was not really busy, but we did not get our food for an hour plus. When we started getting order, the Nacho Hot Dog was rock hard and I could not even bite into it. The nacho's never came. The chana masala bowl was ok. The bbq Mac & Cheese was undercooked as well. After almost 1.5 hrs waiting for our order and getting only partially served, we finally got fed up and asked them to cancel the rest of the order and walked out. They were kind enough to refund me for the Nacho Hot Dog and Vegan Nachos.

I went here on a hunch, we're two carnivores and a vegetarian. I picked this place, thought it would balance the needs of the few vs the many. The menu prefaced itself as being able to engage us meat eaters, and thrill the vegetarian among us. But much to our dismay it disappointed both...now that was a true trifecta! The vegetarian point of view was the food lacked inspiration. The bun was stale and the kale salad was underwhelming. On a scale of 1-10 the vegetarian among us gave it a 5. Ugh! So hopeful but utterly disappointing. As for the carnivores, mine was a buffalo chicken (NOT) expected this for this IS Truly a vegetarian place. But you expect freshness in everything including the bread...again another stale bun. I had the chickpea salad again just peas in a bowl nothing to Scintillate the taste bud. And to top it off...there was something in my beer! The only thing I would truly enjoy and that was ruined! I had such high hopes based on the reviews, in the end, Not as great as billed. Sad.

Service was fast and good. Order when you come in and sit for food if your eating in. We stopped by on our way through town coming from the DC area. The atmosphere was good. Place was clean. The food was ok. Ordered the Bahn Mi, Mac and cheese bbq not dog and bbq and blue burger. Also tried the Peruvian potatoes - which was probably the best part of the meal. Sides were a chick pea salad or a kale salad. Again everything was okay. Would not go again. Probably just not our type of vegan food.

I'm not really sure what to say about this place. I am not a vegan myself though I have had some very good vegan food at times. I wasn't terribly impressed by The Vegetable Hunter. I went to the Carlisle location. It is clean and pleasant but the food just wasn't really to my taste. Not terrible certainly, but not all that great. I have a vegetarian friend who really loves this place and another vegetarian friend who hates it. I wouldn't refuse to go here in the future but I don't think I would be likely to choose it myself. I only tried a couple of the things on the menu though so maybe there are better things to be found here.

Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. Not super busy. Placed my order and waited. Not long. I ordered a protein bowl, and the Peruvian potatoes, and a blackberry lemonade. The Peruvian potatoes were the appetizer. The protein bowl came out first, it was fantastic. Kale, parsley, hummus, spicy beets, tofu, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, and a quinoa bottom. It was a load of food. I went to get a box for my leftovers and asked about my Peruvian potatoes, the waitress was like, you ordered one of those as well? Yep I sure did. About ten minutes later it came out. I got the potatoes to go. The blackberry lemonade, yuck. I was hoping for some fresh squeezed action because of the price. Instead got some chemical tasting lemonade with blackberry syrup. Hard pass. When I got home I tried the potatoes. They weren't cooked all the way through. They were still crunchy. Disappointing. The protein bowl was even better the next day. I can recommend the protein bowl.

It is quite impressive how this establishment makes all their vegan meat in the kitchen. I was treated to an impressive array of Chickun n waffles followed by a BBQ Pulled Lentil Pork sandwich.

I would love to give a raving review because I love the idea of the place. It checks all my vegan boxes. The food is absolutely delicious but it took an hour to get our food since we initially got there. This place isn't the place if you're looking for a quick bite. Though I do recommend if you have at least an hour to wait or order online ahead of time.

We stopped at The Vegetable Hunter in Harrisburg for lunch during a road trip from Jersey to Pittsburgh. My husband is vegetarian, so I found this place online and made it a pit stop for us. We found metered parking near one of the government buildings nearby, maybe two blocks away or so. When we got there, we were the only patrons at the time and had the place to ourselves. We got a table on the first floor. Food was really good - I had a banh mi sandwich and vegan mac and cheese; he had the Israeli sandwich. It has interesting décor and the bathroom was nice. They also serve drinks, which we didn't try but maybe one day in the future if we're ever back in Harrisburg.

This is such a beautiful cafe! They have a ground floor and an upstairs to eat your meal. I ordered a latte and Bahn Mi sandwich with kale salad on the side. It was delish! I honestly cannot wait to come back and try more items from their menu.

Actually very good beer for a "tree hugger" restaurant. I used to stop there after work to grab a quick beer b4 heading home. I haven't had any food, as I love cooked dead critters, although the menu sounds good. I'll have to bring my parents next time they visit as both are now non meat eaters. I think they would enjoy it. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They even had kombucha on tap, which I did not try, as the beer was more my style.

Yes to vegan comfort food! Yes to delicious and plentiful sandwich (and other) options that took me 15 minutes to choose among! Yes to a rose cardamom espresso latte that I would never have dreamed of making myself, but which was delightful. Same goes for a mac & cheese pita with pesto and sour cream that was both inconceivable and yet rich and really hit the spot. I've only been twice, but I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've ordered, and I appreciate that they also provide healthy sides such as kale-quinoa salad. I got a combo with lemonade that was perfect. Only wish this restaurant had a twin closer to Lewisburg, PA.

So sad to say this, when I first tried this place 4 months ago it was great, I ate here about 5x since May. today I went In just for my fave drink the strawberry seltzer. There is a whole new staff with a whole lotta attitude. The girl made me a horrible tasting drink. and was not happy that I went back to ask for a new one. After she said "I make it how I always make it" , I asked for a refund instead. It honestly tasted like lemonade with something expired, idk. I know how my fave drink from this place tastes and that was not it for sure. She had an attitude about it all. People don't realize how important customer service is. You can have the most bomb food and if you have crappy people working there you will lose business. I personally will not be eating here again.
