This place is great, although expensive, but perfect for a special dinner. I really appreciate how Philly restaurants have outposts in the surrounding suburbs that are easily accessible without having to go all the way into the city. The white dog has plenty of parking out front, some limited outdoor seating that I wouldn't bother with since it's practically in the parking lot, and three separate areas indoors to dine. They have a bar area and booths, a bright and cheery area with many tables for two, and a section further in the back where I've seen large parties sitting. I never really focus so much on the surroundings and decor in my yelp reviews, but here I felt like it was necessary, since their whole brand is built around quirky dog decorations in cozy spaces. Their food is very good, better than other places you'll find in the area, but again be ready to pay. Generally the cheapest entree on the menu costs $29. Their menu changes seasonally, and they always have delicious and innovative things to order. In the fall I've gotten calamari and a short rib dish, and this past weekend I got the spicy lamb bolognese (it wasn't particularly spicy) with a teeny little blob of pesto ricotta on top. It was very rich and delicious. My boyfriend got the double cheddar burger with truffle parm fries (not pictured), which he said were very good. That I think is available year round, along with their meatloaf which is also tasty.

White Dog Cafe offers a delightful brunch experience with attentive service and delicious food. The warm donuts appetizer stole the show, closely followed by the homemade seasonal brunch bread, currently featuring a yummy banana bread. My beet and arugula salad, with a smart substitution of avocado for cheese and the addition of jumbo blackened shrimp, provided a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The ambiance exudes good vibes, and the restaurant attracts a steady stream of customers, so making a reservation during peak hours is advisable. Overall, White Dog Cafe delivers a memorable brunch outing, and I recommend it for anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.

We went last night with another couple. The service was attentive. Our dinners were delicious and the crème brûlée was the perfect ending!Vegetarian options: Our table ordered the vegan burger and mushroom soup.

Waited 45 mins to get a table despite having a reservation. Awful check-in experience. Food was meh.Not a place for people of color. There are better options. Spend your money elsewhere.

I came here for a rehearsal dinner, so I don't know if the regular dining experience is exactly the same. The first thing that is going to leap out at you is the decor. Then are leaning heavy into the white dog thing. Very kitschy and whimsical. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. The food was really very, very good. The salmon was nicely prepared and the starters and dessert were also quite good. The standout here was the prime rib. It was very possibly the best prime rib I have had. I really can't say enough about it. Highly recommend. If I had one tiny complaint; their coffee needs some work, weak and thin not great after such a terrific meal.

The ambience is unique to any other restaurant but the food inspired this review. I ordered the king cut prime rib which was absolutely phenomenal. It was cooked in a rotisserie style oven which made it very juicy and flavorful. 10/10 would recommend

Another great dinner at White Dog, a nice cozy place to spend the evening while the rain was pouring outside. Our drinks to start were a glass each of the Merlot blend which we hadn't tried before and was very enjoyable. We skipped starters (to make sure we had room for dessert) and chose the pan seared branzino and the roasted half chicken. Both were excellently prepared and delicious. For dessert we shared the dark chocolate truffle tart which was heavenly, accompanied by a little more merlot. All the staff members did a wonderful job, especially our server Dave.

A great meal in a very reliable restaurant! Have never had a bad experience here. Only minor complaint this time is that since no bread is included with dinner their delicious rolls have to ordered separately. Unfortunately the rolls weren't available promptly after we ordered & came out at almost the same time as the entrees. Next time I'll be specific about when to bring the rolls. Service was excellent.
