Hidden gem ? alert! This place is such a wonderful addition to Hazleton. From the drinks to the meal, everything was very well executed. All the dishes were well seasoned and delicious. My mom raved about the meatball scamutz sandwich which uses bread made in-house. The mashed potatoes with my steak were some of the best I've ever had. Prices are more than fair. 10/10 would drive the hour trip to come again.Parking: Street parking only. Sometimes it is harder to find spots. Needed a table for 25 for a birthday celebration last minute.. the manager dave was able to make this happen in a short amount of time and made sure everything was perfect! The staff was awesome, food was good, and we had such a fun night! Can’t thank them enough!

Good food. Not everything was my twist, but enjoyable.Parking: Take Church to Diamond, left onto Diamond, past Laurel and it’s the diagonal OBE WAY side street to the right Aspen. Parking on both sides, and it never fully fills up. We all park there for our apartments etc.Kid-friendliness: Not so much for young-in’s. Quiet/Peaceful.
This is an historic place with outstanding food. I have to go everytime I am in hazleton. We were seated immediately and served the most delicious bread I have ever tasted. I have always said the local water determines the bread and Hazleton has the best water of any city I have lived in therefore great bread. The Italian wedding soup was delish. What I always get is the cavatelli with sausage. It was great and I will have cravings for it until I can return. One one place near me in nc with cavadil and their sauce is awful and the pasta soft. The Ovalon sets the standard for cavatelli. I only regret that I wolfed down my food before getting a pic

This restaurant is a local legend. I've been coming here since I turned 21. I've celebrated, wedding and baby showers here as well as birthdays etc. it's a great place to sit in the bar area in a booth for informal get togethers or a more formal area in the dining room. The food is mainly Italian and it is one of the best restaurants in a 50 mile radius for it. The prices are a bit higher than the last time I was here ( +/- 15 years). I don't live in the area but it was my birthday and I treated myself to takeout. I got the surf and turf salad and although the price doubled the portion was a hefty size. My only dismay was you always get a bread basket when dining in so I was looking forward to the homemade bread with my salad. I got the end slice approx. 1/4 inch thick,hard and quite frankly should have been thrown out! Not served with $35 salad. The s/alad was very good however without that warm bread was a birthday bummer. By all means if you're looking for Authentic Italian cuisine be it formal or with a beer after work and a meatball sub you won't be disappointed. Parking has improved by being able to use the postal lot across the street. They have so many choices for meals that even vegetarians will not leave hungry.

Service was slow. Forgot my salad. Didn't order a second alcoholic beverage because by the time the waitress came back around to ask I was about finished with my entree. We had kids in our group. Their entrees were served almost 10 minutes after the adults. Kids food should always be a priority especially when it's chicken fingers and fries. Overall a descent restaurant for the area.
We had a small dinner for four at the Ovalon after our wedding ceremony. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waitress even gave us complimentary glasses of champagne and thanked us for choosing them as a place to celebrate after our special day. We will definitely return and likely will enjoy some anniversary dinners there as well.

I had steak and crabcake the steak was fabulous. Oh, and I had onion soup, which was also wonderful the salad wonderful the bread wonderful I wasn't real fond of the breading on the crabcake. I personally thought it was going to be broiled and it was OK. the french fries weren't that great they were greasy my husband‘s crab casserole was fabulous. The drinks were very good and the service was good.

There was 11 of us- reservation was at 6:15PM - dinner came about 8 - steaks not cooked enough and cold. 2 waited about 20 more minutes for dinner. If it wasn't for Karen & the waitress staff I'm not sure I'd waste my time with a group.

While traveling, Hazelton was our overnight stop for one night. We looked for a nice restaurant and Ovalon seemed perfect. Street parking wasn't easy to find. It was a bit more casual than we expected, but we were seated near the bar which had a very friendly neighborhood vibe. It wasn't crowded on a Tuesday night. The heirloom carrots were an interesting and enjoyable starter. Chicken piccata and filet mignon were good, solid choices, but not outstanding. We skipped dessert.
