I've lived in this general area my whole life (Hershey) and have passed Mama's many times in my travels, but never stopped. Since buying a Can-Am Ryker and wanting to ride it as much as possible I began driving to many pizza places for fun. Finally it was Mama's turn today. The fact that their credit/debit reader hasn't worked in a long time, I never felt like going for cash, and coming back, but I decided to do so today. The staff were fine, they don't blow you over with a huge welcome, but they aren't rude. I was treated fine, and ordered a small pepperoni pizza and a fountain soda. I was told it we be around 10 minutes, and I don't even think it was that long. The pizza looked and smelled really good, and it didn't disappoint. I love pizza, but for me to really recommend a place it has to be beyond "good" or "just okay." I can tell you that the pizza here is very good, and in my top 5 for sure. Trust me, that's a difficult spot to get into. If you're in the area and want a good pizza, you can trust Mama's to provide that. The atmosphere is fine, nothing special, sort of old looking, but not ugly and didn't appear to be dirty or anything to me. This is a pizza shop, plain and simple, and to me that's fine.

I have been patronizing Mama's Pizza for a number of years. I travel close to 40 miles one way to go there and this should give some indication of how I feel about the food.First. A note on some reviewer who've said the counter staff had been "rude", or "didn't thank us for the business."I have found the usual two gentlemen, one of whom is the owner, are very cordial if you indulge them in conversation FIRST. They want to give you a nice, tasty pizza or sandwich...they do not put things like, "So, what about this COLD, huh? I wonder how long it will last?"Gimme a break. The counter staff are New York in their style; they aren't RUDE, they are focused on doing a job. If you think being asked, "So what'll it be?" is rude, then I don't know what to tell you. I have had wonderful conversations while waiting for my Pizza to be made. The economy, the last lockdown, forced them to cut down on dining room staff. I am thankful that they are still in business.Ok, now for the review, which will be short and to the point (but NOT RUDE).Mama's pizzas remind me of great slices in The Village. RAY'S and JOHN's on Bleecker St.This is HIGH PRAISE. If you haven't been, you'll have to trust me. The thin crust is always perfect and the sauce? Sweet, but not overly so. Just right. In all the years I've been going there, I have NEVER received anything but a perfect, delectable pie. When the need for Mama's Pizza descends upon me, I have no choice but to go the near 40 miles from my home, and bring the huddled masses back two pies...almost always missing a slice that I HAD to put in my PIE Hole!Oh, and that brings up another important fact for pizza connoisseurs who eat their slice while driving; Mama's cheese never slides off, ruining a nice shirt or burning your neck and chin...or chin and neck. You fold it in half and enter Pizza Nirvana. And, as Forrest Gump would say around a mouthful of Mamma's; "That's all I have to say about that."

Called and ordered a medium Special pizza and a turkey sub. It was ready for pick-up in 20 minutes, as they mentioned on the phone! The place was pretty empty for a Tuesday evening. I guess that is expected. The thin crust pizza tasted good, but they use mushrooms from a can, which are not my favorite and the center of the pizza once cut was pretty wet, barely staying together when you pick up a slice.. The turkey and provolone sub came with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion on it and your choice of mayo or oil- I got mine dry and it tasted nice and fresh. Rating this place four stars because of the overall atmosphere and the price/ quality of the pizza.

Outcast ..

Decent pizza nice mom n pop vibes, nice range of items on the menu and the workers are pretty chill.

I've been coming here for a bit whenever I'm in the area for work. It's absolutely amazing food, pretty much no matter what you grab. Highly recommend the Super Italian sub or the Meatball sub personally. Pizza is solid as well, of course, and I particularly love the pizza fries. Only thing I could see some people not liking, their marinara is a bit on the sweeter side, but for me that's a bonus!

Pizza and fries were great. The place is filthy though, so that ruins everything else. Won't be going back because of literally how dirty everything was; floors, tables, chairs, etc. Broken ac collecting water in a random bucket. Watched the guy cooking throw raw meat on the grill and wipe his hands on his apron, no handwashing???

Dingy place with leaking pipes and open ceiling tiles so a large plastic container can catch yellow water right as you walk in. No high chairs or booster seats. A central water "fountain" with 3 water spouts (only 1 of which actually works 100%), filled with algea-ridden, disgusting water that evaporates into the air as you eat in the warm pizza shop.A claw machine with a limp claw that renders its patrons annoyed after their spare change has basically been stolen.Everything is in desperate need of a good scrubbing, and if the front of house looks nasty I can only wonder how often the kitchen is actually cleaned. The guy who took our order (I'm assuming the owner) was not polite; he was borderline pushy for us to decide and place an order. He did not greet us warmly nor did I get the vibe like he cared. He did not thank us for the business, either. The place is listed online with a "lunch buffet", which is why we stopped here. This was completely untrue, and there was no such thing. The food (plain pizza) was average for the area. The $1.79 bottles of water were at least cold, though. We won't be back to this place. A hard pass. Save your money and go someplace else.

Our family of 7 ate visited here today. Our first disappointment was that there was no high chair or even a booster seat for our toddler. The inside seemed a bit run-down with several noticeable needed repairs so not a pretty setting, but roomy and a nice little inside water fountain. We ordered a large cheese pizza which the kids all seemed to enjoy. The sampler was very good! The chicken fingers and fries were also good, but only a handful of fries were given so we felt that wasn't a good portion for the price. The garlic twists were tasty, but was too doughy for our liking and didn't seem baked enough. The ham puffs were also very good, although we personally couldn't taste much ham...but we liked that they weren't overloaded. The wings were medicore and . We ordered honey bbq as my husband can't eat very spicy and we were shocked to find out how spicy they actually were and my husband couldn't eat more than 3 wings. So if you can't eat spicy, don't order the honey bbq. It was also a bit disappointing that for a pizza shop that there were no refills allowed on the fountain soda. Overall, it wasn't the best and wasn't the worst. We would visit again next time we're in area because we always like to stop and support the small local businesses.Kid-friendliness: No high chairs or booster seats was a disappointment.
