My friends and I wanted to start coming in once a week on weekends after work for late night apps (we are all bartenders/servers.) We came in 3 times so far and decided not to come back. Keep in mind we come in around 9:30 pm on Saturday nights, so it is plenty of time prior to closing. Service is always good, bar drinks are ok. The Special drinks are standard corporate mixes, sugary with little alcohol. So if you want a good relaxing drink order a beer or something that isn't pre-mixed, so you know exactly what you are getting. The food is the disappointing part of our experience, and it's not so much the quality of the food itself, it's how it is being prepared and cooked. Everytime we have had to send 2 or more items back for being cold (Everytime one of the food items were the boneless wings) Being in the industry , we can tell the boneless wings and the French fries have been fried previously and sitting under a warmer for way to long, The issue was corrected everytime, but it's frustrating that anything would be sent out of the kitchen like that in the first place. On top of being really hungry then biting down on something you expect to be hot and delicious only to have it be cold and hard, then having to wait another 15 mins for the re-make. We gave it a good run, but unfortunately we won't be back for late night apps and drinks. I do come in during the day sometimes and the food is hot and fresh, and the service is always good.

I ordered takeout, so I can only review the food. I had a sirloin steak, salad, and Spanish rice. The steak was inordinately sinewy. I only had one bite where I didn't have to remove inedible connective tissue. The rice tasted like it came from a microwaved Rice-A-Roni bag. The salad was nothing more than lettuce, a COUNTABLE number of cheese shreds, and large croutons.The only decent food was my wife's chicken. It wasn't juicy, but it was sufficiently moist.Overall, this experience was enough to ensure that I never patronize ANY Applebee's ever again.
