“I ordered a burger. I didn’t want one of the fancy ones they had on the menu with bacon, so they made one plainer the way I wanted it. It was a few dollars more, but it was the best burger I’ve had in years. Also I tried a Chambord Margarita which I’ve never had before. It wasn’t as sweet as I expected, but it was a serious margarita! I sat at the bar rather than a table. All of the staff and owner were really nice and I felt very comfortable eating out by myself. I am just passing through the area in my travels, but if I am ever back in the area this is the place I would come to eat.“
“This is a hidden gem atop Hyner Mountain on PA route 44. The bar tenders/servers are pleasant and attentive to your needs which adds to the charm of the place. The food is fabulous! So far I have tried their cheesesteak, ham cosmo and chicken wings, all were fabulous to say the least. In a conversation with the bar tenders i discovered the place has been in business for over 100 years with just 3 different owners. I docked Pat Reeders 1 star only because on the weekends I was there they quickly became so busy, try as they might, they just couldnt keep up. For my next visit I will attempt a week day trip, pehaps I'll try a burger.“
“I had a wonderful dinner! The Salmon entree was so delicious and perfectly cooked. The ham and bean soup was the owners recipe and was amazing! The bartender Alex was friendly, attentive & made a great martini. Can't wait to go back and take my husband! And... the view of the River is priceless!“
“Stopped in for lunch today. Haven't been for awhile and was wanting to go back. Actually tried to pop in last Friday evening but upon opening the door and seeing no tables available (mind you, the place is small and narrow and basically has maybe four high top tables unless you sit at the bar), we opted to go elsewhere for our dinner....But today we arrived around lunch time and was able to grab the last empty table. Our server (who was also the bartender), Sarah, greeted us with menus and took our drink orders. I chose the tuna and swiss melt and hubby ordered a dozen wings. My sandwich came with a small bag of chips (fries for a slight upcharge).Our meals came promptly and looked delicious. One bite of mine and I knew I'd made the right choice. The tuna salad was nicely blended and didn't have an overpowering fishy taste. Piled between crunchy buttery toasty wheat bread, it was the type of sandwich that you needed a knife and fork and I enjoyed every bite.Wings were meaty and the sauce was the perfect amount of heat with just a tease of sweetness (I tried one) - and hubby agreed. A dozen of these were quite substantial and we wound up asking for a box to take five home.We're glad we stopped in and will definitely be back. Nice job, Old Corner!“
“Came to visit lock haven from 50 miles away. Wanted good local burgers with my friend and this place delivered! The burger was amazing, and the owner and staff were beyond accommodating and friendly. Definitely will return when I'm back in the area!Parking: Lots of spaces on st next to Uncle Albert's.
