Food was great and portions were very generous. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was so good.. The server said that they were both made fresh in house daily and you could tell. I ended up taking half mine home there was so much. Prices felt a little high for a "diner" but in the end you really did get your money's worth. Will definitely go again.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly atmosphere. They do have a kids menu and crayons, which kept my littles occupied. Food also arrived very quickly for the entire table, which was great with two hungry kids waiting.

So I went here with my 4 yr old. He opted for Mac n cheese and broccoli for dinner. Got the food pretty quick, it was your typical diner food as expected. To get my kid to eat broccoli I have to peel little pieces off at a time for him and make it a game. I finished my dinner and my kid had to go to the restroom. We weren't gone more than 5 min and our table had been cleared when we came out, no big deal, I understand it probably looked like we left. The staff offered to get my kid a new order of Mac n cheese to go since he'd only eaten half. PERFECT! Except when they brought it out I had the sneaking suspicion that they took the food they'd cleared already and put it into a container. I took it and left deciding I'd check it at home. Sure enough when I got home and checked all of those peeled pieces of broccoli I'd peeled off for my kid were there. It was the same food they'd cleared from the table while we were in the restroom. Normally I'm not a picky person and I've literally only ever left one review before and that was a 5 star, but you don't clear a table, take the food back to where all the other dirty dishes and stuff are and then bring it back out and hand it to my kid. I don't know what that food came into contact with back there, if you put other dirty dishes on top of it etc. I'm not mad that the table was cleared when we were in the bathroom, but if you offer a fresh order of Mac n cheese to make up for it, then do it. Overall it ruined the visit. Just gave an overall ick feeling.

Ok, it's clean and the service is good but the food is another story....not worth your time or money. During a HomeGoods run I got an overwhelming craving for pancakes or waffles. When I left Homeggods, I spotted metro diner across the parking lot. I'm sort of new in town and hadn't been there before. I figured that was my spot because they even advertise chicken and waffles on their window. I was there at lunchtime and pancakes weren't available so I ordered their Belgian waffle, a side Do you want this of bacon and a soft drink. My food was delivered quickly. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that the waffle was pre-cooked. It was lukewarm and mushy. There was a large blob of butter on the top and I was provided with a pitcher dehydrated of Maple flavored syrup. The maple flavor was not so good. Real maple syrup would have been anwould have been a vast improvement. The bacon was oddly tasteless. The check came to $16 and change......with a tip, , close to $20.... Quite a bit for a mediocre lunch. I know it's popular because there are often a lot of cars in the lot but I don't understand why. Unless I ordered the only crummy thing on the menu, Metro Diner's popularity is inexplicable. I won't bother going back and I recommend that you skip it as well..
