Living in New Castle just over a year; and again I’m missing out on a great place just because the reviews aren’t firewalled. Finally I said, Gallo’s, with that menu, let’s give it a shot. And I’ve been studying that menu for over a year now. antipasti, il pesce e la carne. Fish. I want fish.And starting with the app, we got seafood. We started with the fried calamari with ranch. Can we have marinara instead of the ranch? And with the bread, some oil with garlic greens? And the waitress, Kazmere, who was great. Beyond great, made sure dinner was served as it should be. A nice,slow, easy paced meal. I don’t take hours, but I can kill a day over good food. To me slow is, don’t bring dinner when I’m on app. Nicely paced. And it was exactly how I asked. The calamari came, with the warmed marinara. And that calamari was hot, right out of the fryer hot. Beautifully browned, and, it was some of the best calamari the wife and I ever had. I’m not kidding, if that wasn’t scratch made then I want to know the supplier. The rings were thicker and cut broader than any I had ever had. And while the breading was cooked to a crispy crunch, the calamari itself was like a tender rare filet. Every piece was like that. Not a single one had breading falling off, or was some weird little stringy bit. We ate every one, all gone. Oh, before I get to the dinner. The bread. I never had bread like this before. It came out warm, a nice sized loaf for the two of us, sliced thick. You can almost see it in the picture, how it has a crumb to it, a bite that is more like a cake. Or even cornbread, but not that loose a crumb. Definitely not yeast raised. And the oil and garlic greens that came with it, dash or two of salt and parm in that oil. That was dangerous, because we were hungry and there were still four slices left. But, got it together and just in time. Oh, the Wedding Soup. Or salad? Guess which one won. No pastine or orzo but the chicken, the endive, and those little handmade meatballs in chicken stock.Drop the salad, take the soup.Now dinner proper. Very proper. I got what on the menu was lemon pepper cod loin. That pasta with the mushrooms? If anyone ever told me I’d like capellini with garlic and oil and mushrooms, no meat. Those mushrooms had some kind of great bite to them. Meaty. And the green beans with crispy slivered almonds. The cod was a large thick piece baked and seasoned and covered with capers and lightly cooked diced tomato. Seriously, that menu just said “Lemon Pepper Cod Loin, with side of pasta and veg of the day”. And the plates, both our plates, came out hot. Full of food, and nicely garnished. And the wife got salmon with crisp slivered almonds, rice pilaf, and those green beans. Hers had a light grill flavor. Not smokey, but grilley. And that salmon tasted even better than my cod. We stopped shy of stuffedness, and took a good sized snack home each. And the rest of the bread. And the extra napkins too, why the heck not…It was a very good meal. Very, very, good.And now the pics. Tried to take good ones. This dinner deserved it.

Portion sizes are huge! The food is amazing. Hands down best Italian food I’ve had. Everything was quick and the restaurant was beautiful. Our server was timely and managed her tables well. Will definitely come here again!

This is an amazing place to eat with fair prices and every meal I have personally eaten here has been great !The waitresses and everyone from staff were extremely professional and fast.They always seem to have a smile and a hello when you walk in I would absolutely recommend this place !
We went there for my mother's birthday. She had been there before and loved it. They have a shrimp and vegetable pasta dish that she loves. I had a chicken Parmesan sandwich which was really good. Usually the bread of a sandwich doesn't steal the show but it enhanced the sandwich so much that I have to talk about it. The fries were amazing that came with it. Our other guests regularly get buffet around lunch time and I was actually kind of jealous. I didn't try what they got but the vouged for the pizza which looked really good. They also had soup and salad and some good looking pasta. I was only jealous for the variety of what they got and it was also a very good price. Not that what I had was expensive either considering the quality and the quantity. I got two meals out of it. We will definitely be going back regularly. Especially to try the buffet next time.
My wife and I stopped by this evening to celebrate getting married. We went in to get some tiramisu and a few drinks. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The place itself smells heavenly. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a beautiful smell of parmesan cheese. Our server brought us menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We let her know we needed to see a drink menu which she promptly brought us. I got a glass of Pinot Noir and my wife got an Italian Wedding Cake Martini. Francis Coppola Pinot Noir is a favorite of mine and I was really happy to have a glass. The wife LOVED her martini. Our server brought out the tiramisu and boy howdy did it look amazing!!! Unfortunately, we both went to take a bite and it was frozen solid. We very gently and kindly let our server know. We even apologized about saying anything because we don't like to complain. Our server was super kind and was kind enough to put them in the microwave to defrost them a bit. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough. There were crunchy bits of ice in the center. Tiramisu is supposed to be a smooth, creamy, decadent treat. The crunchy bits of ice really killed the whole experience. We were really disappointed because the flavor of the tiramisu was absolutely spot on. If it hadn't been for the frozen aspect, this would be a 5 star review reeling about how awesome the tiramisu was. Again, flavor was perfect. The coffee, chocolate, and cream were astounding. It just needed to be defrosted. And that isn't the servers fault. She did everything she could to make it right. I think if the frozen aspect was corrected, we'd be willing to stop back in and try it again. I really hope this is fixed because we order delivery from Gallo's a lot and the rest of the food is always incredible. A rare miss on this visit.

Had a take out order and the girls at the counter rushed me in the 30 seconds it took me to fill out my card slip and their tip to the point of removing my food from the counter and putting it on the table behind me so they serve one of their regulars over my head. Food is absolutely delicious
It was a unique visit, shortly before they closed on New Year's Eve, but the few staff were gracious and kind. It was a nice touch to the evening to have the whole restaurant to ourselves. Of course, the food was excellent ?

We had the buffet, so it really isn't fair to grade their food based on that. However, it was pretty good for a buffet, and the price was fair. The staff was friendly even though the place was very busy. Recommend you give it a try if you're in the area.
