Ultimately, this was a very good experience. The store was nice and had good prices. The food was excellent (afternoon tea, meat pies, sausage roll, scones, scotch egg) and was enough to fill all six of us. The folks were friendly too. There were two things that took one star away. First, when we arrived, some of the workers were not entirely friendly, almost like the six of us were a burden. They eventually warmed up to us (or maybe we just caught them at a bad moment?) The other thing was the wait, especially since we had 1:00 reservations, arrived at 12:50, and started getting some of our food at 2:10. To be fair, they DO warn of that in their website and it was lovely to walk around the store while waiting. Still, this could be an area of improvement.

We had an AMAZING Full English breakfast! One of the best black puddings cooked to perfection, well portioned out other ingredients. The portion sizes are smaller than you typically find in England but that's to be expected given the availability of decent ingredients. Chef definitely does it justice! Well worth ordering ahead so everything is cooked to perfection as well. We also appreciated the locally made oat bread to accompany it and ended up buying a loaf afterwards. A great place to support many locals in the community while getting a delicious meal.

I wanted to like this cafe so bad so I could tell my family from out of town about their afternoon tea and shop but the only friendly person was the man at the front register. Unfriendly is a pleasant way to put the woman who spoke to me about my coffee order. When I asked a question about a latte she shot me a nasty look and copped an attitude and began to speak to me like I was an absolute idiot. She was so unwelcoming I wanted to just say forget the latte and walk out (which btw I was ready to drop more money and order breakfast and eat there but not after that interaction). For a family run business she should be ashamed for speaking to people that way and treating them with such a cold, unwelcoming demeanor. Severely disappointed and would not recommend to go there

They do a delicious fry up (English breakfast). Their sausage rolls are really good too. The shop has a wide variety of British snacks, chocolate, frozen pastries, frozen sausages, crisps, biscuits and lots of different flavoured tea.

Food was excellent. Friendly staff. Full breakfast was as good as any I have had in the UK and I was born and raised there! Wonderful sausages and tasty thick bread.

Had a wonderful Irish breakfast with a pot of spiced orange tea. Absolutely delicious all around, but the mushrooms in the breakfast were really the star. Bought a couple of ounces of their standard oolong tea to bring home and have been enjoying it immensely everyday since. The gift shop portion of the place has some great imported treats from the UK as well as some beautiful jewelry and handcrafted wood carvings. Will definitely be going back.

The Oxford Hall Celtic Shop and Cafe is the best place to shop for Celtic fashion and jewelry as well as having a wonderful selection of foods and gifts. Have not been to the cafe for awhile but if they still serve scotch eggs - they are the best!! The owners are wonderful and very helpful.
