Great place with incredible genuine food and a hard working man running the place. I highly recommend coming here for the best Korean food and supporting this family.

Not great, not bad. I ordered the beef dolsot bimbimbap. Skip the dolsot if you are expecting the rice to get crispy - it doesn't. Small portion, light on the meat, but it tasted okay. We ate in, but I think due to this damn covid thing, we didn't get any banchan. If I came back here, I would probably go for just the veggie bimbimbap - a better value for the money.

Was in the area and checked Yelp for some good eats. Came across this place. I didn't even know there was a bibimbap specialty place nearby. I kind of like the concept of a stand alone bibimbap place. The dining area of the restaurant isn't currently open, so you can call in an order or walk up. I walked up and ordered and received my food relatively quickly. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap with beef. I didn't know how the dolsot bibimbap was made without the stone bowl, which usually cooks the rice while your eating, so you can a nice crust around your rice towards the end of your meal. Basically the dolsot bibimbap to go was mimicking that experience with frying the ingredients before serving. At first, I thought the portion size was a bit small, but after eating it, I was surprised how filling it was. The gochujang or hot sauce was mixed in. The food was cooked well and it tasted great. It had a good amount of spice. The only compaint I had about this place was that it's a bit pricey for my specific order. It was close to $14 for a relatively small rice dish. Maybe next time I may order a dish without the dolsot ($1) and beef ($3) upgrade and see how it is. The vegetable bibimbap seems decently priced at $8.95.

BOTTOM LINE: eat here! Short menu with reliable reliable tasty Korean staple dishes. The owner is so nice and thoughtful and I'm so glad we are close enough to eat here at least once a week! A total understated find for south street area Asian food!

I can't express my love for this place enough. I hadn't had much bibimbap before I moved to Philly in 2016 and lived across the street from here for two years. I initially saw the place was highly rated so I went to check it out and what's not to like? Rice, choice of protein, veggies, fried egg, etc... it's a healthy and complete meal. Since I've left Philly, I haven't found bibimbap anywhere else in the US that's been as good. It's genuinely exceptional, whether you opt for the stone pot (dolsot) or not. But the real kicker here isn't just the amazing food- it's the man behind it all. Francis is special- he's a great chef but an even better person. By running this restaurant, he's helped put his daughter through college and grad school, and supported his family altogether. I'm so happy to see all his hard work paying off! After over 3 years of not seeing each other once I moved, he remembered me as soon as I walked in today. Bottom line- if you're looking for the best bibimbap on the east coast, look no further than here. And if you love great food made by great people, this is the place for you. To Francis (if you see this), keep being a role model my friend!

Nice homey space. Delicious food (got bibimbap, japchae, and ginger cinnamon tea). Friendly owner/chef. Would definitely go back! Also, really great location, right next to Magic Gardens!

Bibimbap dolsot as takeout- obviously they can’t do the regular stone bowl experience for takeout where the rice gets crispy from the bowl, but it was still delicious. Well seasoned with a touch of spiciness (3/10 heat level). Looked like a one person operation when we were there, good service.

Recently moved to the area and thought I'd try this place in my neighborhood. Against my rules about not dining out on Mondays, I thought I'd be good to get a Vegetable Bibmibap. I have to admit that it tasted really good however, by 2 hours later, I nearly threw up my lungs. Sorry TMI.... but it's true. Will never go back based on that experience. Good luck!
