My coworker recommended this place and I'm so glad that she did! The banh mi was the most flavorful banh mi I may have ever had. The vegetables were full of distinct delicious flavor, more so than the usual pickled veggies included, they really stuck out. The sandwich as a whole had so many flavors working together. This place is a one man show it's seems and he couldn't have been nicer. The multiple payment options are awesome (cash, card, Venmo) and that he informs you of the options is even better. The inside of this shop is so fun and feels like you've walked into someone's studio full of a hodge podge of projects - my favorite being the jooths aka Jean booths. We didn't wait long or at least it didn't feel like it since there was plenty to take in. The Vietnamese iced coffee I ordered was a bust but I'm wondering if it was just an off day. I will absolutely be back and might even have to try the vegan option because if it's anywhere near as flavorful as the regular, I imagine it's divine.

vegan banh mi with braised jackfruit & kimchi was chef’s kiss! my mouth was watering from the aromatics as I waited for my order. really delicious take on traditional vietnamese yet still brought me back to my momma’s kitchen. cafe space was eclectic and very much what I expect from a coffee shop in old city with its cool art & decor. a must stop if your in the area!

Stopped in yesterday for the first time and had such a wonderful experience. The jackfruit and kimchi banh mi was so good! Perfect crispy bread and just so much flavor in the sandwich. The owner, Pete, introduced himself and was so kind and welcoming. This is exactly the type of business I love to support and I plan to return again someday soon!

My friend suggested coming to Cafe Couleur and I'm so glad I did! The menu features drinks with creative spins on them, like green tea with pandan and a specialty latte mixed with orange peel, ginger, and turmeric. However, it also has plain ol' coffee and teas for those who want something simple. The bahn mi was especially notable thanks to its unique marinade. The veggies tasted like they were seasoned with some kind of soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar mix. The honey ham in the bahn mi was also a plus with the fatty texture and sweet flavor. Besides the food, the owner was also super accommodating and offered multiple ways to pay. He asks how sweet you want your drink on a scale of 1 to 5. The interior also has unique decorations that made it feel different from the typical coffee shop. It's a must-try for anyone who loves Asian food (especially Vietnamese) or cafes.

Drip coffee only. No espresso available here. Staff was friendly, but shoving food in his mouth as he spoke with us.

Visiting Philly for the first time and was in the area looking to grab a bite to eat so decided to check it out based on the reviews. Glad I did cause it was a wonderful visit! Ordered the banh mi and it was fantastic and then had a wonderful conversation with the owner. Definitely recommend and hoping I'll have the chance to stop by again!!

Wow, just wow. I got the Vietnamese iced coffee and you can tell they put love it in it. Best iced coffee I've ever had PLUS it woke me up right before the mid day lag at work. Will be coming back! Also very cute interior with a lot of seating. Outside benches are pleasantly unique.

I've never felt so at peace at lunch. Ordered a meat bahn mi and a Vietnamese coffee and chatted with Pete the proprietor about sandwiches and how he develops ideas for menu items. Such a cool place. Ate my delicious meat Sandwich in the adjacent park and thought about returning soon to try the veggie. Cannot recommend this place more highly. It was truly an honor to experience Cafe Couleur.

Cafe Couleur is a cozy place full of expressive decor with a generous artisan, making the drinks and sandwiches. Fresh flavors unlike anything else in the city. Every detail is cared for even using ice cubes made of tea in the Purple Tea Drink.
