As a vegetarian I didn’t love the food. The calamari was too oily, the ricotta was flavourless and the pasta was too dry. The drinks are really really good though! Especially dollface and emerald city.

Get the fries. They said to order 2-3 plates per person. We got 6 items for 3 people and could have gone with one less.Ranking:1. House fries were hands down our favorite2. The Korean BBQ tofu was also fantastic if you like spicy foodsThe avocado toast, meatballs, and Bao buns were all good. But the calamari just tasted fried and not much else.Yes, it’s loud, but just come prepared. Overall a fun and tasty plant based experience.

Horrible! Ridiculously loud , had to scream to be heard while dining, Music blasting in the bar and in the bathroom ,not all interesting food, Ridiculously overpriced. As a long-term vegetarian, Waste of a meal in Philadelphia while visiting. Basically, a loud bar with expensive bites.

Nestled in the vibrant streets of Philadelphia, Charlie Was A Sinner. is a haven for those seeking a culinary experience that transcends expectations. With its inviting ambiance and innovative plant-based cuisine, this restaurant captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression.Let's dive into the star of the show: the food. Each dish at Charlie Was A Sinner. is a work of art, meticulously crafted to delight even the most discerning palate. From the first bite to the last, every flavor sings in perfect harmony, showcasing the creativity and skill of the culinary team. However, I must address a notable aspect of our dining experience—the service. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, there were some shortcomings that impacted the overall enjoyment of our meal. In particular, our server seemed lacking in knowledge of the menu, unable to provide accurate information about certain dishes' ingredients. This became especially problematic when attempting to accommodate dietary restrictions at our table. Rather than consulting the chef or kitchen staff for clarification, our server seemed uncertain and unable to provide the necessary assistance.Despite this hiccup, I must commend the kitchen for their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our dietary needs once the issue was brought to their attention. Their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience did not go unnoticed and ultimately salvaged what could have been a disappointing situation. In conclusion, while Charlie Was A Sinner. excels in its culinary offerings, there is room for improvement in the realm of service, particularly in staff knowledge and communication. Nonetheless, I remain impressed by the restaurant's commitment to delivering exceptional plant-based cuisine and look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience.

Ambience was spectacular! Chandeliers, candles, padded booths, cozy, dim. Food matched in greatness. Everything was delicious. Especially enjoyed the crab cake sliders and bao buns. Potato croquettes were delicious too. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was wonderful!! Wait staff was attentive and helpful with recommendations. Will definitely return here!!

Food was excellent. Service just ok. Room temp mint water not refreshing. Had to ask for ice multiple times. Server would not leave pitcher of plain water on table- had to buy $7 bottle of water. Too loud for any conversation.

Before my dine in experience, I ordered take out where I tried oyster mushroom, Artichoke frites zucchini sliders everything was good. However, nothing compares to dining in getting food fresh and hot so here I am trying oyster mushroom and potato croquettes both 10/10 (definitely coming back for more). I also tried the Pappardelle Genovese (needs a little seasoning) 7/10. My mocktail midnight sun was good as well. My coworker stated his 1st drink was too strong for him but all the others were nice. He had the pan seared calamari which he enjoyed. Atmosphere wise I like the low light and the music its just a bit small once people start rolling in. Nonetheless this is a great place overall and I recommend if you looking for a good vegan restaurant.

Outstanding service! Thanks to our warm, friendly, and efficient server! Food and beverages were excellent as always. Ambience is louder and more closely crowded than we would like.

Drinks are consistently excellent and the atmosphere is superb. You have to roll the dice to get somewhere to sit it stand, but if you can it is well worth it.
