I actually do not usually do restaurant reviews, but was so please with Con Murphy that I felt like I had to share. I feel like there are many restaurants in Philly, and this one deserves more attention. We were day-tripping Philly and enjoy seeking out the local Irish pubs. We were charmed by the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere! It was noisy and small, in a fun and happy way. The TWO bars were well-stocked. We came with the family and everyone was pleased. We started with the Parmesan Truffle French Fries and they were exemplary especially paired with the Aeoli. The blackened Grouper sandwich was "sublime" according to my son who works at a restaurant! My daughter didn't prefer the crust thinness of the flatbread, but enjoyed the potatoe soup. The Irish fare was well done. My son ordered the shepard's pie and my husband and I both ordered the beef stew. I am picky of "Irish Food" bc so many places do not give it the attention it deserves, but everything was prepared beautifully. If you like very rich, decadent broths and hearty, meaty portions, then the stew is for you. The bread it was served with was unbelievably flavorful and had a tender center and crusty exterior. The stew tasted like it had slow-cooked for hours and did not dissapoint. I ordered the "Tullamore Gold" cocktail and it was a tad sweet, but flavorful. I wish I had paired a red wine or whisky with the stew. My husband had a canned apple cider which was tasty.

Arrived for drinks and apps on a cold rainy night. Disappointed as its on the beach but the bartender Adrian made it such a nice night. She was attentive and happy. You couldnt help but light up from her energy. Drinks and food was delicious!! Be back next time we come down!!

I’ve been to my fair share of Irish pubs but this one takes the top spot and it’s due to the service. My bartender Kara truly made my time such a wonderful experience. From the playful banter to perfectly poured Guinness, this bar has now come the place for me.

I came here for a reservation with a group while I was in town for a convention. The location is very convenient to the convention as I go every year, but I can't say I'd ever come back to Con Murphy's or recommend it to anyone I know. The service was extremely slow, the staff actually quite rude. My table was ignored for most of the time we were there. When we finally ordered and got our drinks and appetizers, it was not anything to write home about - very standard pub fare. We didn't even finish our first round of drinks and appetizers, when we were suddenly told that we needed to leave because our table had been reserved for another party. We hadn't even had the chance to order second drinks or entrees yet. Why did they allow us to make reservations or even seat us, if they didn't plan to let us enjoy drinks and food at our leisure? On top of that, if they were overbooked, or busy, why was the service so slow? Why were there several servers grouped up in the corners chatting and audibly talking trash about patrons? I don't think I've ever felt this insulted by any hospitality establishment before. Our group ended up going to a different restaurant to get drinks and food, and the experience (and food) was ten time better.

A quintessential Irish pub experience. Great food, great service, and great location right in the heart of Philadelphia.

March 2024 - we were fortunate to go online and secure a table at Con Murphy’s. It was cold outside and the menu here is delicious! This was our 3rd time to eat at Con Murphy’s this year. I ate the Irish Stew which was absolutely delicious; the service is great, food is 5 stars and has been a consistent location for a good food and great location to relax and enjoy a really good meal with friends, family or co-workers.Close location to several hotels or local sights. Great restaurant!

Pivoted from another restaurant on the Parkway and made a last minute resys for Con Murphy's on a stormy Spring Saturday. Best decision ever!! It was a true vibe.I love warm welcomes and friendly faces when I walk into an establishment and that's exactly what I was greeted with at this Irish Pub. The hostess and our waiter Bill were both outstanding! What We Toasted With:Victory Prima Pils - Downingtown, PA (5.3%) (5/5)Espresso Martini (5/5)Hot Toddy - Perfect on a soggy Saturday (5/5)Irish Coffee - Also a perfect pick me up (5/5)What We Ate:Cheesesteak Eggrolls w/Sriracha Aioli - These were lacking a bit of flavor and just okay. (3/5)Brioche French Toast - w/Applewood Smoked Bacon and a side of strawberry compote and maple syrup. Absolutely delicious! (5/5)Salmon Benedict - 2 poached eggs, seared salmon filet, tomato and sautéed spinach on an English muffin, hollandaise and breakfast potatoes. Another winner! (5/5)Blackend Grouper Sandwich - seared grouper filet, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Chipotle mayo and a Brioche bun. Another homerun! (5/5)The food was fresh, hot and plentiful. When you're stuffed and get home then remember you meant to order dessert...just means you MUST plan a return visit lol. There's truly no other option!

Came here with a group of friends for brunch and we left feeling disappointed. When we arrived, the hostesses told us there was no seating inside and to check the upstairs bar for spots (there were none). We decided to sit outside since there was a heater, but honestly we were still freezing so I wouldn't recommend the outdoor seating if it's cold. We ordered the Murphy fries and Parmesan truffle fries for the table and honestly the fries were the best thing we had there. The other food was not good. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs and they very clearly burnt my toast and just covered it up anyway with the toppings. Additionally, none of my food was seasoned and it was just very bland. My friend found a hair in his food. No one at my table seemed to enjoy their meals and we unfortunately left a lot of food unfinished. Service was okay; our waitress was good but the hostesses werent very nice. The wait times were long. On top of just not having a good dining experience, they add on 20% gratuity automatically so watch out for that. Overall I probably wouldn't come back here for food.
