I went here for breakfast and it was packed by 08:00 on a Saturday morning! It was worth the wait! The breakfast sandwich was amazing! I got the BLT and it was fantastic! Totally recommend this place. Just be prepared to wait for your order... It will be worth it!

Eating here was an amazing experience. You feel welcomed and can easily strike up a conversation with a local sitting at the counter. The food is on point and I personally believe is the best home cooking outside of my grandmother's that I've had. I ate there five times in four days.....that says more than what I could ever post. I highly recommend!

If you are in Philly and visiting the famous reading terminal market, don’t miss this place. This is a gem, quite famous, however can be overlooked in the chaos of the Terminal market. They have limited seating and they are probably closed on Sundays. I visited for brunch and got Philly cheesesteak with fries, the mandatory apple dumplings, and cheese curd fries, and a glass of refreshing lemonade. Everything was very fresh, made with real, and high quality ingredients. Highly recommended.

The Apple dumpling was so good! I had it to-go but it was still so good. The Apple was so soft and the dough was gooey, soft, and warm!

The federal govt imports immigrants to replace voters, as the population of Philadelphia plumets, because crime and the rising cost of everything has taken over the city. The Reading Terminal offers a storybook setting and the Dutch Eating Place is awesome for breakfast.

squeezed into the Reading Terminal Market, the Dutch Eating Place serves up Amish breakfast + lunch plates at a bustling counter space lined with old-timey luncheonette stools. while this eatery is busy, turn over is pretty quick so lines move relatively quickly. after a long morning of walking, got lucky and only had to wait a few minutes despite it being weekend rush hour. the toughest thing about Dutch Eating Place is its menu bc it sounds so simple in that down-home-good kinda way…that and your stomach and eyes get large as you can spy what your fellow diners are eating. i ended up ordering a Bacon Jam Breakfast sandwich, side order of fries, and a glass of orange juice. the sandwich was everything i wanted that morning and more—toasted bread sandwiching bacon, egg, cheese, and a healthy spread of bacon jam (more bacon ftw!)—the sandwich is as sweet as it is savory which is a winner in my book…and it is pretty filling. the bacon jam eventually overpowers the sandwich but i liked that it closes strong. tbh— the fries were kinda “mid” as the kids say…really soft, not crispy…i really should have bypassed the fries (sacrilege in most cases, i know!) and ordered the “loaded home fries” which my dining neighbors had and they looked amazing—onions, bacon, cheese, and more smothering a hill of homefries. the orange juice was something of magic as it tasted incredibly fresh and was perfectly chilled. this orange juice refilled Vitamin C tank. the service is really pleasant and fairly quick—the servers complete the experience at Dutch Eating Place by being kind people in a maelstrom of hungry faces! after eating here, all i can think about is ordering a stack of blueberry pancakes for sure…of course, those loaded homefries, next time!

On my mission to eat at every place in the market this was one of my first stops. A homey staple with bomb food, quick service, and a friendly vibe. I would marry their apple dumplings. Get one!

The best mushroom omelette in the country made with local mushrooms and lots of TLC, thin layers of fresh eggs stuffed with plenty of shrooms. And so affordable with all the seats nearby filled with others who also know the deal.Dietary restrictions: GF is easy with eggs on the menu.
