Food was great!! We tried the ceviche, guacamole, quesabirria, enchiladas con mole and chalupitas. It was all great food! We were able to spend time with the chef and he's such a sweet funny person. It just added to our experience. The service was smooth quick and polite! Parking can be tough and it may get busy bc the food is great but it's definitely worth trying this place out!

Vegetarian options: Really delicious, flavorful vegan burrito! I’ve been looking for a Philly Mexican spot with great veggie options since moving here from SF. Highly recommend a stop here!

I grew up in Central California, where Mexican food is more of a staple than McDonald's. I'd consumed enough taqueria food by age 10 to last most folk a lifetime. Left home a couple decades ago for the Midwest, then eventually the East Coast. I've been looking for food that reminds me of home ever since, and last night, found it in my neighborhood in South Philly. Words aren't even going to describe how perfect and authentic and fresh and delicious it all was so I won't begin to try. Go here, have your mind blown, literally shed a tear about how spectacular the Al Pastor is like I did. Or don't, and let me have this priceless and perfect gem all to myself, forever. Man, the Mole made me emotional too. It's just *so* good. So so so so good. Our server was a total pro, took great care of us while he ran the whole floor solo and the place filled to the brim. For too long have I flushed money down the toilet (lol) at mediocre Mexican restaurants. This is the spot, no contest. Worst every penny. El Mictlan, please never change, because you are perfect.

Our household was excited when El Mictlan opened up around the corner. We dined in a few times and everything was great. As someone else mentioned, the Nopalito soup is a must try! The restaurant is cozy and service was great.

Cute neighborhood spot, family-owned, with really festive but classy decor. The mole and esquites were highlights. The birria could have been more flavorful - it was a little bland, but the texture was fantastic. I'm excited to check them out for brunch on the weekend!

It's a very cozy restaurant. The foods are very delicious. It's also a unique location because it's like 10 minutes driving to the sports complex area.Parking: It was a bit difficult to find a street parking due to the location of the restaurant
