Delicious mezcal margaritas are a great way to unwind on a weekend. Pair it with a brunch burrito served with a smile... Perfection.

Always an enjoyable meal at El Vez. Last time I was here my math was incorrect when I added the tip and on my credit card statement they charged me the correct amount - appreciate the honest service! Thanks so much!

This place is great! It was packed but you wouldn't know it based on the level of service. The food was incredible too. They also accommodated my food allergy.

I like the small menu. The flavors on the tacos Al carbon were okay. Carne asada burrito had a bit more flavor. Food tasted fresh and clean. Nothing was wow. I would suggest this as a drinks and snack place after work or before going out on a weekend. Not a restaurant but more a bar with some food. Cool

Absolutely fabulous dining experience. Decorated in a wonder of chic & Mariachi, El Vez delivers on all points: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, bar-made mixed drinks, fresh guacamole, salads, and entrees. (Except the flour tortillas & croutons) the rest of the menu is gluten free. Plant-based options are proudly available.

We came here for a late dinner.I wasn’t that hungry so I had a little girl dinner moment.I got the side of white rice and black beans and a side of the original guacamole and tortilla chips. The rice and beans were good! Solid. Basic. Expected nothing more and nothing less. The guac was also good! Solid. Basic. It wasn’t spicy. The lime came through just enough. The chips were higher quality. Thick and crispy. Not heavily salted. The bartender was really kind and helpful. I didn’t want a full guac so she offered a side which was just enough. She also had good drink recommendations. The place was on the moodier side which was nice. The music was not blaring.

Very good food but very high noise level. Top margaritas.
Nice Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Philadelphia.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Many families were here. But it didn't deter from the overall experience

My server Angelina was amazing! She was warm and friendly. Which was stark contrast to her manager who came to assess our experience after we disliked the Black Bean flatbread that we added shrimp to. His approach was aggressive and unpleasant. He questioned my friend and I at length about what we didn’t enjoy about the dish. I was happy to provide feedback but his demeanor was quite uncomfortable. He walked away saying “thanks for the info.” Minutes later he walked by our table STILL talking about the dish saying it was “a nice looking dish but ya know.” I alerted my server that his approach was unprofessional and made my experience less than amazing. Angelina was apologetic and assured us she would make our experience great. After several visits and 144$ lunch today, I can say I will not be returning to El Vez based on this experience.

Have had many excellent meals at El Vez! Big fan of the De La Hoya guacamole and blood orange margaritas. Was there recently with several out of town co-workers. The staff was awesome at adjusting our reservation last minute and we had excellent service. My one and only note, is that I loathe the bathrooms. They feel like they belong in the backdrop of a Law & Order episode. They are dark. And dingy (especially the ladies room). And weird. I know it's the Stephen Starr way, but these are my least favorite.

Looking for a fun night out? Consider checking out El Vez. Starting out, the drinks were very flavorful and delicious. I got a guava margarita. The food was American-Mexican, but each dish they put their own flare to. My nachos were decent, but I’d come back to try the tacos. Good service! Suggest a reservation, as otherwise the wait can be long- 30+ min on a weekday.

The decor of the building was interesting, and the dim lighting created a cozy atmosphere. The chicken tacos were absolutely delicious, and the staff were very nice. Definitely recommend dining here at least once. 8.6/10 rating from me!Parking: Parked down the street at a parking garage to get there but it was totally fine.
