Great burger and good German beer selection. Service was fine. A nice beer garten in Philly. Outside seating, you order your drinks and food, and then sit down. Simple.

Frankford Hall in Philadelphia’s Fishtown is a lively German beer garden that offers a year-round outdoor drinking experience, thanks to its ample heat lamps. It’s a fantastic spot for enjoying traditional German drinking food like Bavarian pretzels, wiener schnitzel, and sausages, all served with beers by the liter. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming to a diverse crowd of all ages, making it a great place to hang out with friends or meet new people. Whether you’re there for a casual drink or to celebrate a special occasion, Frankford Hall’s combination of good food, good beer, and good company makes it a standout destination.

Food is excellent and beers are big. Interior can get a bit crowded and the ping pong table is truly an annoyance. Great communal outdoor seating area with a fire pit. Recommend the sausage sampler, smoked salmon and potato pancakes. Weekend afternoon vibes are family friendly.

Perfect brewery vibe. Beer selection was great. The Beerlomas are awesome. Outdoor area was so lively. Giant pretzels hit the spot. Great for large groups to walk in and enjoy.

Avoid. Worked here for over a year. Kitchen conditions are dreadful. Starr should be ashamed. Hired known bullies as sous chefs, very abusive staff. I’ve never been treated like a thrown away like this in my life. They tried to start an “app only, DoorDash only” ghost kitchen serving smash burgers. So you have an entirely separate “restaurant” inside what is already a cramped kitchen. The program was dreadful. They spent money on new equipment for the “burger concept” while the actual frankford hall area suffered the same dirty equipment since they probably opened. (Which would fail during service ALL THE TIME).This created real tension within the staff. What was already a terrible communicative kitchen turned into a real spite fest. Totally unprofessional and unbelievably bad. It’s a revolving door of staff for back of house , and I seen a lot over the course of a year alone. Favoritism and nepotism are the key elements to the Starr business model.Staff with no voice, a kitchen that was suffering and a militant attitude I felt was very disrespectful. Constant yelling and reprimanding was the norm. As toxic as you can imagine. For Christ sake they had one dishwasher for the entirety of the whole restaurant. The poor dude worked into the ground. No signs of advancement for line cooks here. Not unless you want to sell your soul, if they give you the option. Absolutely terrible communication, dire conditions and abuse are riddled in this place. Not sure if that’s Starr policy , but I signed up to cook not join the military. I get it the staff thinks they’re badass and tough. But honestly they’re just absusive and toxic. I would not recommend my friends nor family. Stay far away from this mess.My first week there I started on a Friday , which happened to be my 30th birthday. The oh-so-concerned sous chef and executive chef felt like they needed to supervise me so hard and get so closed to me while I was taking a basket of fries out of the fryer into a seasoning bowl , that they knocked into me causing boiling hot grease land all up and down my arm causing like 2nd degree burns that didn’t heal for at least a month. Just one of my few injuries while working in that chaos. What should have been a straight forward and fun, easy going job was an absolute nightmare. Fights between staff are the norm. I’ve never seen this amount of spite in a work place , ever. The food program here is a total mess , I could go on. No guidance. Very abusive staff. And the division between front of house and back of house also another contention. It’s like 2 completely different teams fighting again each other. Wish I enjoyed my time here, as I have multiple friends who worked front of house and the kitchen. They had a hard worker in me but would not allow me the time of day. Bullies all around.I was there from approx 2021-2022, so it’s been some time now but I still cannot believe they get away with what they do.

Accommodating with fire pits in the patio. Large space for it to be philly.

One of our favorite places to pop into. Love the little enclosed outdoor environment, the consistent and very enjoyable german food, and of course, the beer! It can get a little loud inside, but we've never had a bad time here. Will be back soon!

We stopped in here before heading to a show at the Punch Line. My friend and I immediately fell in love with the space! They have an outdoor garden area with fire pits and also a spacious indoor area with a lot of seating. We ordered their pretzel and apple ciders. They were yum!

Great spot to gather with friends, have great food, and drinks. They have spacious indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating was packed. The outdoor seating has plenty of heaters with 3 large fire pits keeping the square warm. The staff were incredible going around adding fire logs and changing the propane tanks to keep us warm. The food is great to share and very filling. I was very pleased with the drink options. They have beers, ciders, and non-alcoholic options. There are wheelchair accessible stalls with vertical and horizontal grab bars. The sink is a trough still so not ideal. They do not have paper towels but rather opt for high pressure hand dryers right by the door. There was music playing over speakers that was hard to talk over. Definitely hard for those with sensitive hearing or who get over stimulated. I recommend bringing ear plugs if that is you.Vegetarian options: Beyond meat spicy sausage, pretzels, and veggie burger. The slaw did use chicken broth to make it.Wheelchair accessibility: Venue is wheelchair accessible both inside and out. The outdoor section is packed gravel so not great for manual wheelchair users.

Ordered from Frankford Hall for some of their tasty fare at home. I was disappointed to see how stingy the portions were, especially based on the prices. Believe it or not, the photo was the order of schnitzel BEFORE I split it with my boyfriend. While it was thin, it was cut down way too much in size to be worth it.
