Diving into Golden Triangle unveils not just a meal, but a passport to a culinary expedition specializing in the Southeast Asian flavors of Thailand, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Tucked away in the heart of Philly, this humble gem offers an intimate escape to distant lands with its quiet, casual ambiance and a cozy dining room that boasts no more than eight tables. Our adventure began with the Malaysian classic, Roti Canai -- a delightfuly crispy, flaky, chewy marvel that serves as a prelude to the symphony of flavors awaiting us. Paired with a rich curry chicken potato dip, this dish was a standing ovation in the making. Then came the Sambal Shrimp, a bold ensemble of shrimp reveling in a spicy brown sauce, creating a festival of taste that had every fork in the room longing for an encore. The Beef Rendang, while a masterpiece of flavor and tenderness with its slow-cooked, aromatic curry, left us longing for a second act, as the disappointing portion size was more of a soliloquy than a full-fledged aria.Despite the small dining room, Golden Triangle played the perfect host to our group of six (including a baby car seat), accommodating us at their sole large table--a testament to their ability to harmonize space and service. While the Mee Goreng and Penang Char Kway Teow flavors were well balance and added depth to our culinary journey, both dishes lacked a bit of the smoky "wok hay" that I was yearning for. The Burmese Kimchi introduced a zestful twist to the meal as it was our first time trying any Burmese food, but it wasn't particularly memorable. In the end, the Roti Canai and Sambal Shrimp emerged as our favorites of the night.Overall, Golden Triangle is more than a dining destination; it's a quiet nook where flavors dance and diners are invited to a show that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the heart. With its intimate atmosphere and welcoming vibe, it stands out as a beacon for those seeking an immersive culinary experience in Center City. Here's to more explorations at this quaint culinary corner, where the world feels both vast and intimately close, all within the confines of its quiet, casual dining room.

The hunt for the best Beef Rendang in Philly led me to Golden Triangle. This Beef Rendang was seasoned well, the curry was rich but the meat was a tough chew and the portion was underwhelming. Not exactly what I'd expect from a contender for the best Beef Rendang in Philly. The Singapore Fried Mee Hoon with Shrimp was ok. The dish mostly consisted of noodles with some veggies and a small shrimp. It was good with a sweetness that was addictive.

Ordered take out and very happy with the food! Good portions, reasonable price, everything tasted good, and order was ready for pickup at stated time. The photo is my plate at home since I did takeout lol. Favorites were the Thai chicken lettuce wraps and the black pepper beef. Would definitely order from here again.

Great food recommended by my Burmese friend! she swears the food here is just like that of his childhood. I personally love the roti canai and the tea leaves salad. Ambience is comfy and cozy, and prices are reasonable if not more affordable than other places in the city. Also great for groups if you call ahead of time. Definitely a gem in Philly!

I'll be honest, it was my first time eating Thai /Malaysian at a restaurant, and boy does this place not disappoint! Got the Roti Canai for an appetizer (this delicious crepe-like pancake which you rip and dip into a sweet and savory curry chicken potato dip). Then we followed things up with Pad Kee Mao, which to me seemed similar to Pad Thai, but without the peanuts and more savory flavors instead. Lastly, we got the Chicken Curry Mee, which was a delicious spicy coconut curry soup, which was a perfect blend of savory with a hint of sweetness. Top that off with really reasonable pricing, and you can't beat it. I can't wait to visit Golden Triangle again!

10/10 in all aspects. Staff is kind, food is made incredibly fast for pick up and it's always consistent. Every time I try a new item on the menu It turns into my new favorite meal. The Roti Canai, Ayam Pandan, Green Curry, Indian Chili Chicken are absolute must try's. You will NOT be disappointed.

Good vegetarian options. Great pad thai and fried rice. Probably some of the best spring rolls I’ve had!

Really good food at great prices, Thai/Malaysian. My go to takeout spot but you can eat in too.

We only came for desserts last night but looks like we need to come back to try their apps and mains too! The peanut pancake was part savory and part sweet - imagine peanut butter in Roti Canai. Very tasty! The Farluda was pretty much like Indian Falooda - a milk based drink with vermicelli, tapioca seeds, jelly, rose syrup and topped with ice cream.Looks like a family based small business and the owners are very sweet.

Very polite service, BYOB, unique items given their regional variety, and good value in today's restaurant market. Also the lunch specials are dead cheap. Leagues ahead of restaurants around here with this sorta cuisine.
