Good Spoon Soupery makes the best soup I've ever had. But beyond that, it has been there for me and my family for holidays (mushroom velouté becoming a Thanksgiving staple), for days when we were sick (thank you chicken soup with orzo), and for so many other days when we needed a pick-me-up and thankfully had sweet corn poblano bisque or potato leek soup or chili in the freezer. I never made it to the Fishtown location, but all the staff I've interacted with at the Rittenhouse and Headhouse Markets were wonderful and friendly. I used to visit the farmer's market at least twice a month just to pick up soup, and I'll never forget the joy we felt when farmers markets reopened after the pandemic shutdowns and we were able to eat Good Spoon's soups again. I made one final stop at Rittenhouse today - and was both saddened and uplifted by those in the long line with me who had come to wish Good Spoon well on their last day of service. I heard from others in line how much they loved the soup and what it had meant to them. Good Spoon was not only a place for great soup from a great team, but a cornerstone of comfort in the Philadelphia community. It will be missed.

Such great soups! Sad to learn they are closing at the end of April 2022. I discovered Good Spoon Soupery in 2022 at the Bryn Mawr Farmers Market. The line was always long, even in the middle of winter, so finally I queued to try their soup. Wish they were staying open, but glad I tried them before they disappeared.

From the very start Good Spoon Soupery has been nothing less than perfect, with its always exceptional service and friendly staff. Regardless of whether it was a balmy summer afternoon or a crisp snow covered early lunch, they have always been a beautifully lit gem nestled under the grumbling EL. The food was always superb, from delicious decadent desserts, to simple yet complexly flavored sandwiches, not to mention the wide variety of daily fresh soups. I have specifically sought out week after week the Senegalese Chicken Peanut Stew fresh on the menu. The spicy peanut flavor is worth the devotion. When Good Spoon added brunch though... it's one of those things that you never knew you needed but would be hard pressed to live without. The fluffy potato bun, garlicky greens, and crisp bacon of GS Egg Sammie is just perfect every time. How do you do that? The Breakfast Pressito is arguably the best breakfast burrito in the city. The potato gratin was amazingly creamy and just melted in your mouth. The sticky bun should have been illegal, it was that irresistible. You would eat the entire thing whether you wanted to or not and it wasn't small. However, the cinnamon toast, transports you from the moment your teeth crunch through the crisp buttery cinnamon sugar crust of the brioche to its soft warm center. You are one of a kind, It's undeniable. Thank you. I will miss you.

We were visiting Philadelphia and staying across from Good Spoin Soupery! We picked up a salad and Moroccan Soup for lunch. The salad was made of local fresh ingredients with a yummy cilantro dressing. The Moroccan soup was full of flavor and chickpeas that came with tasty toast.A perfect lunch for a very cold Saturday afternoon.

This place *absolutely* helped me get through the winter doldrums! Their soups feel like fall in a cup--they make you feel all warm and cozy. It's fantastic that even the vegetarian soups have such rich layers of flavor to them and are so filling. I'm a super fan of the Autumn Veggie Tortellini and several others. Everything here is delicious! Even more awesome that you can buy them at the farmer's market too!

First visit and absolutely worth the trip from Delaware! This will be my go to for soup hands down. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu

A sweet spot in the neighborhood. I tried their cucumber soup in summer and fell in love with it. I like the Senganese chicken soup with the side of bread with it. Veggie autumn soup, Tortellini soup are few more to just add to the list. When in doubt I get the soup here as it is quick to pick up and comes in different sizes so I only pay for how much I need it. Love it!

I often frequent Fishtown and have known about Good Spoon Soupery for awhile but never stopped by - I finally did today! I ordered their Potato Leek soup and Lil Shroomie Press and both were delicious!! The Potato Leek soup was flavorful, yet light. The Lil Shroomie Press was super yummy as well. I never eat pickles but the pickles that came with it paired really nicely with the sandwich. Can’t wait to stop by again!

Ordered takeout on a whim and it was magical. Originally wanted the autumn salad with delicta squash but they were sold out so I went with a cauliflower truffle pasta salad and some Italian sausage/ broccoli rabe/ white bean soup. The soup came with a hearty slice of thick crusty bread. Will be back to try that secret garden next time. Maybe I was just hungry, or maybe their soup has otherworldly powers but either way it was a perfect fall meal that brightened my whole day. Soup window staff were 'soup-er' friendly and got the meal out quickly. Just the perfect amount of food, reasonable prices and lots of care & creativity. Menu spoke to fall and seasonality without screaming 'pumpkin spice'. Sweet potatoes, squash, cauliflower and truffles were some of their fall ingredients. Love knowing that they're just a short walk from the El. Can't wait to try more soups off that menu.

You can always find the BEST soups @ Good Spoon. It's one of my favorite go-to's for lunch. You can do in person pick-up or have it delivered. I Have done both but when I do pick-up, I usually take someone with me as it's hard to find parking around there. I always tend to go for their Chili that is very good but their Colombian soup called Ajiaco is very delicious. Soups do come with bread but they make Pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) which is amazing, I order this all of the time.

Soups may be great but sales people at new market have zero skill Happened by the stand at 3 minutes to 10 Two young ladies sitting behind stand looking at their phones When asking about the soups, we were abruptly informed they don't open until 10 am and told to come back!!!! Three minutes until ten?!?!??? All other stands open Like I said soups are ok but if customer service means anything at all go elsewhere (at least on Sunday morning at New Market in Philly!
