I've had Kabobi's food twice now. Once for takeout and once for eat in. Parking wasn't hard to find in their lot. The staff was friendly and the menus are pretty straight forward. The eat-in experience was ok, but the inside felt more like a fast food environment. Plastic ware was available as well as serve yourself fountain drinks and water. (The self serve filtered water they have for customers was a nice option over bottled) The takeout experience wasn't great. The food was ready on time, but we ended up spending over $120 for four meals which is ridiculous for the entrees we ordered. The chicken tikka masala was below average, the sauce was too sweet and more like a bastardized tomato sauce. The rice lacked flavor and the lentils were sweet and not appetizing. I will admit that the dry chicken tikka was pretty good. They were skewered charred on the outside and had a decent charcoal flavor, but again the rice was boring as well as the chickpeas. My buddy had Kheer (aka rice pudding) for dessert and enjoyed it. My eat in experience was for lunch. The staff looked like they were gearing up for the day so wait times were a bit long. After talking to the guy up front about the various menu offerings and their indoor charcoal grill, I ordered a chicken kabob roll upon his recommendation. A kabob roll sounded intriguing - chicken kabob with lettuce and sauce rolled inside of naan bread with mint chutney on the side. While waiting for my order, I watched the front display slowly load up with various kabobs and lamb chops as the previous nights Sixers game was replaying on the single TV they have mounted on a wall. If you don't order something fresh off the menu they do have combo meal choices available for less of a wait. They consisted of several menu options in a warming station by the checkout counter that could be mixed with rice and naan. When my roll arrived I was digging the aroma. Two fresh kabobs wrapped inside of a soft warm naan bread had me drooling. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by the flavors, but It was still a pretty cool idea. I'd return to try their smokey wings, but other than that much better quality and cheaper options can be found in Bensalem.

Amazing food. They serve halal Pakistani and Indian cuisine like chicken Karahi , chicken tikka masala , Chana. Their BBQ is the best as they cook it on charcoal grill.

Way over priced now. And they charge you if you want extra white sauce, which you need because THE LAMB IS SO DRY NOW UNDER THE NEW MANAGEMENT.

I'm into very heavy spice cuisines lately. Hubby told me Middle-Eastern, Pakistan, Indian, or halal should fit my taste buds. Since their cuisines contains tons of spices. I found Kabobi while shopping at Petsmart and decided to give it a try. Kabobi sits between IHOP and Party City on Roosevelt Boulevard. I really want beef kabob but Kabobi only carry Beef Nehari, which is a curry dish. I figure might as well try, I might like it. I also order Tandoori Chicken Kabob Skewer, white rice, buttered Naan, garlic naan and Kheer. I ate the Naan first,, i prefer the garlic Naan over the butter as it had more flavors. The Beef Nehari is really spicy, FIRE HOT lol, get the green sauce to tone that spice down. The Tandoori Chicken Kabob(bone-in) is absolutely delicious. The meat is extremely tender and flavourful. I was never a rice pudding person but Kheer? OMG........it is deeeeeelicious. This order cost $47, and I can get at least three meals out of it. Definitely worth the $$.

Delicious Afghan food. It's a little pricey but for the portion size and quality its totally worth it. They also have a lunch special on weekdays. A gem in my book.

Juiciest Kebabs in all of Philly for sure. Those seekh kebabs and malai chicken kebabs cooked with charcoal to a tenderness that is only achieved by a grill master or your South Asian uncle that lives too far. The goat curry was also tender with a tasty gravy to spoon onto the rice. Spinach with potatoes was a decent side but the star attraction was the kebabs. Can't wait to go back!

Halal food is the best option. The waitress was amazing and the food taste is always consistent. Delicious, satisfying and mad to order. Thank you for the great experience

Place is small and clean with not the best ambiance but I'd rather less time and effort spent on decor and more on the food. That's the case here Great food, large portions for a fair price. Owner tipped me off to the lunch special when I picked up my order, which would save money next time. Had the chicken tandoori biryani with rice which was tender, well-spiced and delicious. Will be back.

Nice literally place tucked away by a party city. This is more of a traditional and not like a service and waiter. Staff was friendly and the place looks decent. This place was good and I want back a second time because of how good it was. The first time I got the lamb chop meal. Lamb chops were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned! Some nice spice coming through with the juiciness of the lamb chop was great. It paired well with the rice and garnishes. The pita bread was decent. Not the best and not the worst. A selection of sauces would be nice. The baklava was pretty amazing. If you like sweet they got it. The pastry isn't super fluffy and crisp, but still good. The inside was a dense sticky heaven if syrup and nuts. My friend said the middle layer was a little too hard and overall dry compare to the ones they have so that is something to keep in mind. It was good for my first baklava. Perfect sweet ending to the meal. When I went back I got the lamb kabob meal. It was sadly disappointing which is why I gave this place a 4 star. For a place that boosts it's kabob, the meat was flavorless, somewhat tough, and just overall average. Certainly did not feel worth the high price. All in all, it very enjoyable experience! I would recommend the lamb chop over the lamb kebob and the lamp chop meal is a good price. The place itself is slightly pricey, but is still a worthwhile place to try.

I visited Kabobeesh on a Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend because I remembered how good the food was a few years back. I took my food to go and enjoyed it at home 40 minutes later. Go for the food. The aforementioned young man in glasses pleasantly greeted me at the door as did a pleasant woman behind the counter. I had not looked at the menu so I asked the best question “What should I eat?” I got Haleem - boneless beef short rib beef with barley and onions - a weekend special. It’s delicious - I have 1/2 of the portion in the pint container for tomorrow. The naan is great - right out of the oven. I don’t know what the chickpea dish was called but it was the best thing that I ate this weekend - looked like baby food - tasted like heaven. I had the pleasant woman throw some chicken curry on the rice - that also was fantastic. I enjoyed everything I got - for $15. Don’t go for the ambiance. The former diner space at 42nd & Chestnut is dominated by a giant flat screen TV with international news on one side and a beautiful enclosed deck on the other. When I visited, I was the only customer and the team was cleaning. There’s nothing bad or wrong but a post Covid Pakistani spot in an old diner doesn’t scream date night. I would absolutely go back. I remember pre-uber nights when the parking lot was full of taxi cabs. That’s what inspired my first visit and should encourage your first visit, too!

I ordered the chicken tandoori biryani and it was so disappointing. It had 4 cubes of chicken and just a boat load of rice.
