Food was good with generous portions. Service was really great - attentive, friendly and speedy. Overall, it was pretty quiet when I went for brunch but cute inside and surprising cheap drinks! Would definitely go back!

Very disappointing. The gnocchi was a child sized portion and the steak was a slab of meat on a plate with a small piece of rosemary. Had to go Lorenzo's Pizza for a mega slice after dinner. Beer selection was very limited. There was no one there on a Friday and they sat us at a narrow table next to the bar. Guess eating gnocchi on the 29th of the month wasn't lucky for us.

When in doubt, get the traditional cocktails and sample platters. This place serves you with pride and honor and love of their cuisine.

Delicious food! I always come for my favorite dish, which is cannelloni in white sauce. Also, the waitress Jackie was very attentive to our table. I recommend this place??

Love this place! The Tango nights are the best. Food is always so good, definitely try the shrimp and mozzarella empanadas pleasant surprise. I love the paella as well only one I've found in the city. Both sangrias are so so good and the mojitos.

I'm going to tell my experience. We ordered 2 glasses of malbec and it was choppy and sour. We notified the waiter (very attentive), who went to speak with the owner. The owner approached us and we told him the situation. To begin with, he went straight to talking to my boyfriend and he didn't look at me or listen to what I had to say, as if I weren't there... He brought each of us another glass of wine (supposedly the same one) and this time there was a a little better. It seemed like we were going to start a conversation about the situation and the new wine, but it was just him telling us about Malbec (which we ALWAYS drink) and when he finished, he walked away and left us talking alone.PS: Mr. owner, we always address you and the waiters with great respect and you left us talking to ourselves. I hope you never treat a customer that way again because we all deserve to be treated with respect, even more so if we are going to eat at your restaurant. The food in general was delicious.

Two of us entered the restaurant, the service was very bad, they served me the sodas with too much ice, the waitress was a woman with no desire to work, shy and they allowed a drunk from the bar to interrupt us, the meat more or less, the place Without joy, gloomy, with background music from wakes, I will never return to the site again. I do not recommend greetings.

Malbec is a gem! The location is great and close to old city and the space is nice, roomy and comfortable with outdoor seating. I went during restaurant week and I was not disappointed! This is one of the best steakhouses in Philly if not the best! The steak was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection but the simple seasoning gives it another layer of sophistication. The empanadas are so crunchy and when you bite into them a huge burst of flavor explodes! The flan is so unique and delicious. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Definitely a must go to as a regular.

It's a cozy little place and the atmosphere is nice. When it comes to the steak it is priced close to where the high end steakhouses are but the quality of the meat is not remotely close.

Made reservations for tonight for a birthday. Seated immediately. Had the empanadas. They were ok. Had the fried calamari. It was over cooked. Ordered NY strip steak med well. It came out bleeding. Ordered seafood pasta that smelled badly and too fishy. Seafood should smell like the sea. Ordered a porterhouse steak medium and it came well done and tough. Both steaks were tough even the bloody one. Ordered lamb chops that were all fat. We will have to make up this bday dinner somewhere else. They took the pasta dish off of the bill. We didn’t complain about the rest…just didn’t eat any of it.

Food was great especially their empanadas. The service wasn’t bad but it was nothing to brag on. The place was a bit too crowded for me. I don’t mean crowded as in a lot of people but just too small. The tables are to close. The bar is directly in front of the door. Also if you’re one of those bathroom photo people, forget about it. Not worth the energy to find your good side.
