We wanted to love this place, but the service was uneven, dishes came out randomly with no pacing, oversalted. One bright spot was non alcoholic drinks. C minus.

"Small plates" that actually aren't so small, small menu but which is expansive in flavors, and perfectly curated drink menu. Staff were welcoming and charming. When you dine here before dark, the sunlight beautifully illuminates this window-filled intimate space--such a lovely feeling. We particularly enjoyed the eggplant stewed in spicy tomatoes served with g thick cut toasted sourdough bread, the slow-cooked cod with fancy beans, and the grilled squash with brown butter--that sauce was a spiritual experience!

What a fun, creative meal! The crazy mozzarella stick is as tasty as it is stretchy, and the staff and other diners were wonderfully accommodating of two small children. Definitely a little cramped, but well worth it.

Have you ever wished you could shut off your sense of sight at the flick of a button to heighten your sense of taste? Do you find yourself being treated with too much hospitality when eating out and wanting to do the restaurant a favor instead? Did you find your most recent dining experience too easy and left wishing there were more brain teasers incorporated? Well look no further (literally)…Introducing Mish Mish where sudden onset macular degeneration defines the dining experience (because food isn’t meant to be seen) and, at the scripted recommendation of several servers, “you’ll probably be fine” ordering the whole menu. The vibes are refined - 17th century lighting drops the visitor into a culturally appropriate Benjamin Franklin escape room and Ride Wit Me by Nelly ft St. Lunatics is barely heard over boomers rustling for their cell phone flashlights. The secret to a more mainstream go of it is not asking the servers to turn the lights up - restaurant go’ers will only be told, “We can’t - it’s the vibe here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.” Instead, the key is to use sharp objects by dim votive light to pretend the chicken portion needs to be cut in half before ingesting. This process, repeated 3-4 times depending on how many $36 small plates “for sharing” are ordered, is all the more delightfully ironic when the servers ask their willing participants “Are you full?” at the end of “dinner.” And if you’d like to participate a bit more in the theatrics, bread for the table is $4 and there is a $28 candle advertised in the dark bathroom. This ad sponsored by the ice cream and pizza shops still open after you leave Mish Mish.

This restaurant is absolutely horrible! The acoustics, atmosphere, food, and are a disgrace. Hands down, the most pretentious and unappetizing place I’ve ever been to.Don’t go

We absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting yet informal. The staff was friendly and fun.The cheese plate dessert is a symphony of flavors. The salad had me practically licking my plate, the crunch of brown rice and the cheese and dressing were delicious. We also enjoyed the eggplant which is both spicy and sweet and the shrimp dish. Thank you to the staff for making a rainy one night trip to Philadelphia a wonderful memory.

can't wait to go back hard to describe.. it was unique.. everything we ordered was so elevated.. 5 star service.. best dirty martini I ever had .. this restaurant is a winner.. get the cheese plate dessert
We did the price fixe for a table of 6. Options were plenty and very satisfying Great food, fantastic service, extra special attention to our restrictions, went out of their way to ensure our great experience. Chicken and steak get high marks. Beets were delicious. Eggplant was tad tart but very good. Squash app was unique and delicious. Only miss of the whole meal was one of the 2 dessert offerings: the Gouda on spurt cherry and hazelnut crème was not good.Overall the meal tended towards salty that may not be ideal for all.Vegetarian options: Excellent offerings!

I went last night with a friend to Mish Mish and had a wonderful experience. The blend of flavors and textures for the different dishes were carefully thought out and well balanced. I was very impressed with the freshness and quality of food. The service was fantastic there as well. It was worth the price. I would surely recommend this place.

The food was lovely (especially the duck salad and melt-in-your-mouth-cod) but the service was lovelier. Every single person we interacted with at Mish Mish was terrific. The person who guided us through our wine choices was so geniune and sweet, and we were offered free tastes of some of the funkier wines to make sure we would like them, which was something we so appreciated. Every aspect of service was so thoughtful, unobtrusive, and helpful, and it really elevated our experience to one I'll be thinking about for a while. Will be back whenever I'm in Philly! Thanks for a great time Mish Mish folks!!

I can’t speak highly enough about our experience at Mish Mish! Aside from the food being exceptional (still dreaming about the brisket), I actually really want to emphasize how wonderful the service was. I mean every single person I interacted with on the team exuded warmth, hospitality, and genuine kindness. I don’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant and felt that the entire team was happy to be there, and genuinely loved working with each other, as well as the customers. I will be back again, and until then will be sending all the friends and fam I can for a visit! Xx
