This place is SO good, a new neighborhood favorite. The sushi, robatayaki, and entrees we tried were all incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and well seasoned (especially the hangar steak robatayaki!!). Love that it's a BYO, too. The desserts were also a highlight - I would come back just for the cheesecake and the black sesame ice cream! Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. We will be back!

The most incredible robotiyaki! Skewers of branzino, mushrooms, scallops and salmon that are cooked with umami. We eat here all the time and can't understand why it's not packed every night. The owner is engaging, accommodating and knowledgeable. We love the sushi and sashimi too, but the real stars for us are the skewers. Come for any of them! Even the ramen (which I haven't tried)! Bravissimo.

The last several times I've been here I've always gotten great and fast service.The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant and the bathroom was clean.I always judge a restaurant on how clean the bathrooms are because to me it reflects the dining experience and the state of the food and hygiene of the staff. This is a habit of me being a whole Philadelphia foodie.Loved the sushi here.

Amazing food and service. We started off the night ordering the spicy salmon on crispy rice which came with 3 pieces, however we were four people so we were in between deciding how many to order and the server ended up saying he would just add an additional piece to the 3 piece. It was hands down one of the best crispy rices I've had in the city. We then ordered multiple different skewers which were all flavorful but the Hanger Roba is a must have. The meat was tender, flavorful, and juicy... I could've had 10 of those myself. The wagyu beef fried rice tasted home made, the ingredients were fresh and it was seasoned perfectly. We went to Oishi for the halal meat but ended up ordering more sushi than we expected. There were many different options to choose from but the land and sea roll is a standout. Even my friend who isn't the biggest fan of sushi loved it. We ordered the Hamachi ponzu roll not realizing it came with soy paper so we asked our server if we could have it remade with seaweed, he was so kind and immediately made a new one with seaweed- on the house. In summary, if you want fresh sushi, flavorful meat, and impeccable service, Oishi is the place to go!!

Oh my god! The service at this place is unmatched. Every single item we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. They even went out of their way to give additional servings. 10/10 recommend for halal Japanese cuisine!
