I don’t write reviews often. Unfortunately tonight called for one. This was an exceptional neighborhood spot when it opened…We’ve since left the neighborhood and were very excited to revisit 2nd District. However, the bartender was cold and didn’t speak to us. Instead, she pointed at us to get our drink orders. In between her taking shots behind the bar, she asked if we wanted food and proceeded to mess up the order.Ultimately the atmosphere was weird, and food & service have been better to say the least.

A treasure in the Newbold/Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia! Beers are so top notch with classic standards and new interpretations that just hit perfect. The food menu is super simple and to the point. Every item on the menu is guaranteed to be delicious! Highly recommended for beer lovers new and old!

Always a good time at Second District Brewing. The people are cool, the service is good, the food is good, and the beer is good, even the styles that lot of other breweries can’t handle. Please patronize this establishment, they deserve all the business they can get!

The roast pork special is by far the worst cook on a pork butt I've every had. Says it's slow roasted, but that taste like a un season pork butt that was roasted for 2hrs and then sliced. The sandwich was good but the pork itself ruined it all
Stopped here for a bite and a drink with my brother and his family on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to get a table and sit by a big picture glass window. We all ordered sandwiches and ordered a beer. I ordered a tofu sandwich, my daughter a pork shortie. Burgers were also ordered at the table and we were able to share and scarf down 3 baskets of fries. When trying to decide what beer to order we were offered tastings that helped us decide. The food and drinks were good as well as atmosphere. This is a decent place to share drinks and food with friends!

My husband & father were vacationing in Philly last week & stumbled upon 2nd District around the corner from our air b&b & could not be more delighted by the find! The beers are all delicious & well balanced & the food is delicious & you get a good sized portion for your $. The service is super friendly & on it. We loved it so much we went 2 nights in a row, definitely a must visit!

Gotta get my lil buddy city wide (pale ale and a shot of whiskey) and smash burger. Service is always really friendly and they even have smaller 4oz pours if you're trying beers. They have a friendly cat Winnie that wanders around too.
