My husband and I had ordered take out often and never had any issues... then went to eat in and boy were we surprised by how dirty the restaurant is. Clearly years of neglect and no cleaning. The walls are even dirty and grimy. The floors are so sticky! While the staff is very friendly, I watched someone drop a pair of tongs on the dirty floor and then proceed to use it to get toast from the toaster. Definitely won't be back, I'm surprised more people aren't sick from how dirty just the glimpse of the kitchen I saw was.

I personally don’t see why the reviews are so high. The restaurant is a bit understaffed and the food took a while. The restaurant also needs a good deep cleaning. I don’t feel inclined to come back.

The food was very good but a bit pricey considering the portions. FYI, go for the S.O.S.

Great little place in the heart of Roxborough. Easy street parking very clean and food is prepared very well. It's great that seniors are given a free coffee which is normally four dollars from Monday to Friday. You should frequent this establishments.

The beef bacon was crispy and flavorful but, it was served cold and waffles left a lot to be desired

Food was average. Atmosphere was boring and uninviting. The prices were crazy. $50 for 2 eggs/meat/hashbrown 2 coffee breakfasts.

I hate leaving anything other than a stellar review to an independently-owned business, but, unfortunately, the shortcomings of Taylor’s Cafe were notable. My friend and I went there during what should have been a busy time: Sunday at noon. While there were tables open, no one came even to ask us for a drink order for about 20 minutes, and only after we asked twice. The staff was very nice but not particularly knowledge, having to leave our table to ask someone else the answer to our questions once they finally got to us. There were odd responses, such as no one knowing what brand of veggie burger the restaurant used and odd, missing items one would expect in a cosmopolitan area: no herbal tea, no decaf coffee. While the eggs over and hash browns looked delicious, they tasted heavily of butter. I’m sorry to say that we won’t be returning here.
Wanted to try something new. I should have immediately turned around when the floors were sticky, but I was hungover and hungry. The server was okay, however she sat us by the basement door. The fresh squeezed OJ was terribly bitter. I couldn't drink it after 2 sips. The food was bland, and dry. I had the crab cake Benedict and the crab cakes were mushy and I believe fake. The only good thing about the creme brulee French toast was the sauce. The bread they used for it was horrible and cheap. I was only able to finish the home fries. Ran to manhattan bagel because I was truly unsatisfied!

The food was delicious. I had an omelet, and there was a good-sized list to choose what you wanted in it. The home fries were good too, more like a smashed potato. The only thing that was a turn-off was the slow waiter, and the place could use some scrubbing.

Maybe we caught them on a super busy day, but this place was ok. The server was nice, but we waited about 45 mins for food and when we got it it wasn't that great. The grits were watery, the pancakes were dense and needed more flavor, the smoothie needed to be sweeter. The eggs were ok.

I have only had takeout as of yet, but went on the Christmas holiday and staff was kind and helpful. Food tasted great, French toast and eggs, toast, home fries were a highlight. Will be back to dine in.
