WARNING: Under New Ownership. Prices too high. Staff is lovely, but don't get the fish. The fish sandwich, while it looked really good, had that weird texture of being re-frozen & thawed again and had a weird "refrigerator-too fishy" taste. Cod should not be overly fishy, so I was afraid to eat it, and gave it back exactly as pictured. The coleslaw tasted like straight mayonnaise. The shoe-string fries were delicious I'll give them that. The waitress, whom was so sweet, saw that I didn't eat any fish or coleslaw, and threw it all away in front of me without inquiry as to why someone would order lunch to then not eat it. I'm guessing she knows why. At noon there were about 5 people there (it used to always be absolutely packed for lunch). I paid for the meal $18 - ($23 after tip - for 1 lunch!) as a lesson to myself to never go back. Miss the previous ownership. It's not the same place. Not even close.

Nothing fancy, but the food is good. It definitely gives you a flavor of the local neighborhood.

Great small local restaurant. Was visiting from North Dakota and found it. It was Thursday and they had a meatloaf special which was phenomenal.

Comfy, tasty, and friendly.Food was great. Tasted like home cooked except better because it's a home that serves dozens of meals on a grill that shares the flavors between all of them. All of us were happy with the food. It was reasonably priced. The waitresses were accomodating to our party of 10 with 4 children and an infant. One of the waitresses played eye candy with my 1 year old and it was cute. The place is quaint, in a nice part of town, and isn't yuppy. It was full of nice people enjoying the atmosphere. Local news was on in the background and the soda machine reminded me of going out when I was a kid.

Ownership changed. The previous staff was very comfy and inviting. This new group was good too. Food order this time was simple.

The waitresses are a delight each and every visit and I’ll put the Spanish omelet with home fries up against any breakfast in the city. The Allegheny Sandwich Shoppe had a great run, but this place is even better under new ownership!

We walked in and sat down. 4 people came in after us. The others were served drinks before us and had food before we were even acknowledged. Then, the thinner waitress had an attitude with us. I wanted to walk out. When it was said and done, I would NOT return again due to these issues. If you're not a regular dinner, beware!

Food is always what I expect, service, I don't think the waitress could have done any better since she was by herself, but non the less it took a while especially when you're busy and only get a short time. Overall

Ownership changed. I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was meh. They didn't toast the bun and the fries are now thin like steak n' shake. The chef was yelling at people in the back and everyone out front could hear it. Sad, was one of my favorite spots when it was Allegheny Sandwich Shoppe. Servers were awesome as usual. The other food might be fine but for $24 after tip for a burger, fries, and iced tea you should be serving a top notch burger.
