Took my wife there for her birthday! Food was excellent! Veal parmesan was fantastic! I had the ny strip steak and it was cooked perfectly. Our waiter, owner I think was a nice guy very engaging and offered great service. My wife got a little sauce on her shirt and he ever brought out some lemon water to help with the stain! Place was smaller but had enough room to be comfortable. Only downfall is the parking not much of it. But worth dealing with it for the experience. Wife ordered a long island iced tea and said it was weak like cola and orange juice. But everything else was great. We will be going back again! Well worth the drive. Oh btw, coleslaw was awesome also must try ?
If you're looking for good food at a good price in a dive/dinner atmosphere, this is where you need to be. Friendly, down to earth service.Parking: The parking lot is around the back of the building and can be easy to pass if you don't know it's there. But there is always lots of parking available.

Hadn't been there in years. Used to go frequently. Didn't order what I usually would. Got a steak hoagie it was OK. Maybe should have went with Chix Parm or beef au jus.
Ive been going here 20plus yrs. Never got a hoagie yet hubbie says best italian ever. Didnt remember pickle spears under the paper in the togo box. Therefore all i tasted was pickles on my sub. Therefore threw it in the trash pasta is always good but i had to get a second dinner somewhere else. The veal parm sammie is always a fav of mine and the lasagna too!!

Been going to Big Jim's since I was a kid. As always, the Wedding soup is amazing and the sandwiches were delicious as well.

Great food and good service in a relax old neighbor hood setting.
Big Jim’s “in the run” has been serving the local community since 1977. They’ve got tons of tons of reviews and fans across the city and beyond. They were even featured on DDD. Most restaurants that have been on that show have not lived up to the hype, but Big Jim’s is proper. The menu is proper neighborhood Italian. I hear they cook their sauce for six hours. I opted for the veal Parmesan as it’s something I rarely ever eat. First of all, the portions are insanely large. So insanely large in fact they charge a “split plate” fee, which would still be worth it to share. The food is good. Everyone around me were smiling as they were scarfing their faces with sandwiches and fries. It’s a place that takes you back in time. It’s a place where the bartender knows your name and your order. There are regulars. Even the neighborhood is nostalgic in a sense. Definitely a big thumbs up.

Old school fried on a roll menu. Nothing really Gluten Free other than coleslaw, applesauce or a tossed saladDietary restrictions: Everything is breaded, on a roll or a crust. No Gluten Free options other than coleslaw, applesauce or a tossed salad. Same 50yr old menu. The most Gluten filled menu I have ever seen. Everyone was kind and hurried service-wise.
