Kicking myself for not driving up the hill sooner to this incredible Pittsburgh gem! The food: outstanding and fresh. The drinks: Delicious. The glassware: so fun. The owner and staff: incredible people. We visited on the last night of the season before the owner makes the trek home for some well-deserved time off for the holidays. (They'll be back in Feb). We had lovely conversations with the staff and other bar patrons. It's a lovely cozy space and the perfect environment for talking to strangers. There are some beautiful photos on the wall used as conversation starters from the owners travels. I tried the pickle martini and some of the house-made wines, all were so tasty. The food blew me out of the water. The Iberian plate was a perfectly curated mix of the most delicious meats, cheeses, olives, kimchi, etc. We got lucky that day as the owner had prepared her famous lamb. She slices it thin and serves it with a generous portion of pita bread and house made dips including tatziki and red pepper hummus. I'm dreaming of eating and drinking here again and can't wait to become a regular.

Stopped by last night- as my friend wanted a cocktail and this was the area we were in. The place looks completely different inside- totally hipsterish, chic, cool vibe. You can also sit outside. We did not eat- but the menu looks good. All the spirits are from PA. The owner was the highlight. So fascinating- makes a great drink, great conversation.

What an amazing find this little place is on California Avenue in the Marshall Shadeland section of Pittsburgh!! I haven't seen this place mentioned by food critics in the Pittsburgh area, but was told about it by a couple fellow Yelp! elite members a few days ago. The building is easy to find with the street number displayed on the outside however, there is no signage whatsoever, and the two doors on the front are both locked without any indication where to go. Walk around to the right side of the building and you'll find the entrance. Great cozy bar with a bartender who whipped up some delicious, amazing cocktails. The food is mostly various types of tapas and shareable plates with a quality selection of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Forgot to take pictures because we dove right in to the plates which all looked so good and were!

A hidden gem. Looks like a dive bar outside, but cozy inside, with an added bonus of an outdoor seating area with a view.Food and drinks were absolutely delicious and the service was stellar. Definitely worth a visit.

Delicious cocktails and small plates. Love the bar and outdoor areas! The owner is the sweetest and an amazing hostess/chef. Very fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Looking forward to my next visit.

Y'all. Yinz. Yes, I mean you (plural). Stop what you're doing and change your dinner plans, because you need to meet your crew at this unassuming eatery with adult beverages. It may look like a hole-in-the-wall, but inside it's shabby chic (with the nicest bar bathroom I've seen in a while), and there's an outdoor space that can be re-arranged to host a group of almost any size. Plus, the music was speaking to me: it began with "99 Luftballons" and ended with "All the Small Things" from Blink-182 ("Work sucks / I know").I met some girlfriends there on a Friday evening, and we split the Norwegian, vegetarian mezze, and Basque mussels platters. 1 per person seemed to be the right ratio, and everyone had enough to eat from the finger-licking variety. We enjoyed our meal while watching / listening to / feeling the rumble from the freight trains passing beneath us and across the railroad bridge over the river. (#ThatsSoPGH)The proprietess is a chef first and foremost, but the cocktails are hardly second rate. I really want to give a shout-out to the hard-working bartender! Although the margarita was mostly grapefruit juice, the whiskey sour was delicious, and the old fashioned was just different enough to be interesting. Beware! When the menu says the Oaxaca Sunset is spicy, they mean it! (It was too spicy for me.)To top it all off, after the sun had set, while we were trying to decide whether to wrap things up, a wild raccoon crested the hill and looked confusedly at all of us humans, as if to say, "Scram! It's my turn to eat!" Our little group paid up and left, at any rate, with plans to come back.
