We came for trivia and I decided to try another concept while we were there. The burgers that went by looked really good. I had to have one. I'm glad that I did. The burger was really big and juicy. The charred taste really made it. I liked the fries too. Wouldn't mind trying some other menu items another time.

One of the new concept restaurants over at City Kitchen formerly known as Galley Bakery Square. Enjoyed the made from scratch salmon burger with fries. I didn't care for the coating but the salmon was fresh and delicious! Add onion straws and you have a great topping!Choose a table where you want your food served, order and then pay by cash or card. Card fees are transferred to customer.Portion sizes are generous! They have traditional and different types of burgers. They even have a veggie burger! Definitely worth a return visit. Take out is available.

Charred is one of the new concept eateries at City Kitchen. Possibly patterned after "Bubba's" that was in the old Bakery Square Galley, their specialty is various types of gourmet burgers made into patties.. Whether you are going for the traditional burger to a Jerk, cowboy, or Wagyu burger you are sure to find something good here. Want to try something different? Check out the Moroccan lamb burger made with Moroccan spice rub with other add ons including tzatziki. I was drawn to this concept during my visit when I saw they had a salmon burger on the menu. That salmon is made in house and cooked to order. It comes with a lemon dill spice rub, lettuce, lemon crema, pepper relish, and onion straws. It comes with a side salad or for $1.00 extra you can order the french fries. I decided to go with the fries. When you place your order you are asked to give them your table number so that they can bring your food to the table. Cash and cards are accepted here. Please be aware of the fact that if you paying by card, you will pay the credit card fee they pass along to you. I sat down at a table and it wasn't too long before they brought my sandwich and fries. Let's say although it's a pricey sandwich, you still get a generous size sandwich. I really enjoyed the salmon itself and the fries were cooked just right. The onion straws were good. The whole salmon burger was covered in a coating. Charred does offer one vegan/vegetarian option in the form of a veggie burger. You can also purchase "shareables" which are mostly sides and different salads. Certain add ons to your sandwich have an upcharge. Check the menu before ordering. I really enjoyed dining here at City Kitchen's new concept and wouldn't hesistate to try them again when the occasion warrants. Located in Bakery Square in East Liberty, there is 2 hour free parking in the nearby garage.
