This has been our go-to store for decades but that ended last night. I will honestly say it is a decent store and we have largely been happy there, so, go shop! I pulled up at 9:02 PM to find the store closed for the night. I was in such total shock! To me it is a 'trust' issue. When you have had a friend for that many years who then does something awful, you lose your trust. This Giant Eagle was my family's go-to shopping spot for years. Of course, that was before Giant Eagle introduced their Market Districts, let alone before a Target, Whole Foods, and other grocery options opened up in the South Hills. Please NEVER order a cake from here. Our cake was "fixed" 4 times. It ended up looking like a Kindergarten baking project gone wrong. From our daughter's name being spelled wrong and them trying to fix it, then the "fix" looked like a big blob of icing and in the end they messed up again and put a lower case L in the middle of her name to me it work. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for a cake.
