I go here quite often because my wife's family likes to go. I always find Mad Mex pretty mediocre, I don't get it... I chalk it up to being from Southern California.

I am sure it was probably just what I ordered which was a taco salad with chicken but it was super disappointing! Maybe they ran out of ingredients but it was literally 95% iceberg lettuce, 4% chile peppers, 1% chicken, 0% beans, 0% sour cream, 0% cheese, 0% guacamole but to their credit it was served on a taco shell.

Excellent service and food. The photo doesn’t do justice but we are so busy that we didn’t get a chance to take photos. Birria quesadilla was excellent. Drinks are great. We were visiting Pittsburgh from New York City and this is definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

For a $25 dollar plate of food , total garbage. The worst fajitas I’ve ever had. They should work on matching portion sizes with the cost of the meal. Skimpy portions.

Mad Mex we miss you in Oakland. There were three (3) hairs in the 2 dishes we ordered. They weren’t even well hidden, they looked like garnishes. But we can look the other way because the service was so friendly and

My coworker and I decided to stop by for a quick bite on our lunch break. For starters, the decor is OUT OF THIS WORLD! It’s so colorful and vibrant and you can really see Mad Mex’s history through the decor. Our server, Grace, was sweet and attentive. She also gave very insightful suggestions of what to order, which helped a lot. The beef Birria quesadilla was prepared with care and made to perfection! It was flavorful and decent sharing size, in case you can’t finish it all on your own. The margarita was delicious and I love how they use fresh strawberries instead of strawberry syrup. All in all, this has quickly become one of my favorites in Pittsburgh and I will be back soon!

Nice place inside. Ordered 4 hard shell chicken tacos. The shells seemed to be directly out of the Ortega box. Hard and not heated. They took a grilled chicken breast that was probably cooked hours ago and sitting in a lukewarm tin, chopped it up into 16 chunks and put 4 of them on each taco, not in. The tacos of course fell apart. Were the most bland and cheap tacos I've ever tasted. Chicken tacos are supposed to have shredded chicken so you can stuff the chicken inside the shell, not plop it on top of the lettuce and cheese. Maybe I ordered the wrong item on the menu.
First time there I didnot like any of my food I have chicken wings and it didnt have any sazon guac was bad and the pico de gallo was only chop tomatoes the utencils was dirty and the napkins stink I woundn't recomment this

I’ve been coming here for a long time and yesterday night the food and drinks were not good. We ordered things they never came, the rice and beans had no taste at all the margaritas had no liquor in them so we had to order 2 rounds of shots and we had big margaritas and a pitcher and it was really just juice. I was very disappointed ☹️ especially paying 200 dollars and it wasn’t good.

The burrito tasted good, although I would have preferred more vegetables and protein. You won’t leave hungry though, as the portions are quite large. The arrive is excellent. The music is relatively loud. The atmosphere is closer to a bar than a dine in restaurant.
